        SHE REACHED OUT.  no contact was made, however, instead hovering her hand above.  like she was trying to decide whether to initiate touch or if she’d rather pull her hand back.  instead, fingers flicked and stretched until one POINTED to his arm nearest her.  her green depths searched over his flesh, like she might find the answer she sought staring her back.  instead, the only response was s i l e n c e, her own uncertainties.  mouth fell partially open, though before she could finally speak, she was cut off by a shout that enticed her to jerk into herself.

                        one could liken her to an armadillo trying to roll up within its armored shell.  unfortunately for her, she only had thin clothes that hung too large on her body, and flesh already adorned with scars.  neither worked to protect much against the one who screeched when he was angry.  he would always find a way passed her barriers.  so sharp inhale filled her lungs, and cat straightened, turning and anticipating copper was coming for her.  his dark eyes didn’t settle on either of the two there, however, his large frame moving passed without sparing them even a glance.

     relief, shoulders dropping, eyes fluttering as groan became her first audible reaction after a long stretch of awkward mingling.  palm pressed to her forehead, eyes r o l l i n g, then clawed bangs from her face, wishing her hairband hadn’t broken that morning.

The stadium lights dim, and for a heartbeat everything is still. Then, from the shadows on stage, the background dancers start clapping— sharp, clean hits that fall perfectly in rhythm with the opening beat pulsing through the speakers.

HUNTR/X weren't usually headliners for festivals such as these, but once Mira had learned that Isolated would be one of the bands in the bill that year Rumi didn't have a choice. The bands had already bumped into each other backstage, shared a quick exchange with a promise to reconnect after their performance.

Yeah! Uhuh! Yeah, this ain't a game and you KNOW we don't play !!

Zoey's voice cut through the clapping and the crowd reacts instantly. A ripple of excitement moves through the stands, and fans start joining the claps, first scattered, then tightening into the same exact rhythm. Thousands of hands sync up with the dancers’ beat until the whole arena feels like one massive drum, the sound echoing off every surface.

The adrenaline builds, Mira's voice taking over as she and Zoey share a playful high-five on stage. The energy is electrifying, spotlights following the two hunters on stage as they effortlessly riding on the power of an arena already moving in unison.

There's her cue, Rumi steps forward from the shadows and the crowd erupts into another wave of cheers. The unit of three move with expert ease, voices merging in perfect harmony, booming through the speakers as the lighting technicians flash purple, blues, and greens on stage.

Then a sound tore through the music. A metallic snap. The kind that doesn’t belong anywhere near a performance.

Before anyone could register it, a massive lighting fixture came crashing down, slamming into the center of the stage with a deafening crack. Rumi just narrowly misses being crushed underneath, ducking right just as stage splits in half and the lights in the outdoor stadium go dark.

"have  you  gotten  yourself  into  trouble  again?"  nicolás  asks,  raising  a  brow  over  in  shaw's  direction.  they  don't  have  frequent  contact,  but  if  shaw  is  coming  to  him  directly,  he  must  need  something.  "i  can  only  pay  people  off  so  many  times,  shaw."

Naruto looks. When he finally catches sight of the couple, his eyes widen in recognition. Holy shit he was--oh they're looking in his direction.

Turning back to Shaw with a sheepish grin, he rubs the back of his neck.

"...you can't tell me not to look. That's like basically saying to look!" He tries to excuse before getting up. "We better go before they get here."
