Whenever you and Lilia would visit Malleus growing up, he’d be the happiest anyone had ever seen him.
Lilia was like a father to him, which meant you were like his mother!
He grew to love you as much as he did Lilia, especially when you’d just talk with him after his fellow students would just ignore him or avoid him.
Sure, Malleus was used to being alone, but you and Lilia were always so loving to him.
Malleus adores you, you’re one of the few people to ever step in as a mother for him.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
When Lilia had adopted Silver, he hadn’t expected the child to cling to you so much.
Silver loves the both of you with his entire heart, but as a child he always took a liking to Lilia—purely because he saw Lilia first.
Whenever he’d choose Lilia over you, you’d act sad but really find him adorable. Silver, ever the oblivious one, would always feel sad and then run to ‘comfort’ you with babbles and gummy smiles.
As he grew older, he loved you all the same.
He was especially thankful whenever you’d take over making food when Lilia volunteered—he had even asked you to teach him to cook when he was little, but hadn’t remembered much other than extremely basic things.
Silver loves you and wants to protect you, you’re his adoptive mother, of course!
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Sebek has always respected you, and it only grew once he learned that you had also served in the war.
Whenever Lilia was training Silver, Sebek would run to you and ask for more advice. He was curious about what you had done in the war, so he’d pester you with questions about every little detail, neglecting the fact that it had been a few centuries since then, so most of it was fuzzy.
Sebek was fully ready to fight anyone that dared to speak badly of you, you were one of his masters, after all.
Sebek respects you, but has a bad habit of asking you far too much about your past.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Lilia loves you with his whole heart.
When you stand in the moonlight, the world seems to go quiet, just for a moment. It’s like when the two of you shared your first kiss all those centuries ago.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
You had gone into the forest near dusk, and it was approaching midnight.
Lilia went out to look for you, cursing under his breath, but he was genuinely worried.
He came into a clearing amid the trees, then noticed you standing at the other side.
You appeared ethereal—the moonlight bouncing off of your skin, illuminating your features with a heavenly glow.
Lilia paused, taking a moment to appreciate the sight before stomping over.
“And just what do you think you’re doing?”
You turned and saw Lilia next to you, steam practically pouring out of his ears.
“Oh, hey! Sorry, I just wanted to clear my head before we left.”
He sighed.
“It’s been hours, we thought you’d been kidnapped or something.”
“By who?”
“Obviously the humans! You know how they view women, they’d probably use you as a bargaining chip for the war.”
You smiled.
“Or… you were scared that I’d disappeared?”
He glared at you for a moment before scoffing and turning away.
“Aw, you’re blushing, Lilia!”
“I am not!”
He clearly was.
“Alright, let’s go. We need to travel a lot before sunrise.”
He turned around to check if you were following, but he couldn’t stop the blush rising to his face when he saw that beautiful glow on you.
“Lilia, are you flustered~?”
“No! I’m just… angry. Yeah…”
“You sound so convincing.”
He snapped, turning around and stepping towards you.
However, you were about to grab his shoulder, so you ended up brushing noses.
You both blushed, then broke out laughing at each other’s faces.
Lilia calmed down first, then studied your face again, closer this time.
The two of you stared at one another’s lips.
“May I?”
You nodded, already leaning closer.
The two of you kissed softly, lips barely touching.
Lilia suddenly remembered that the others were waiting, just as he was about to kiss you again.
“Gah, c’mon! Let’s go, they’re waiting for us!”
He grabbed your hand and pulled you along.
“And we’re returning to this later, okay?”
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
By the seven, Lilia really loved you.

⟡ You and your darling boyfriend stargaze and cuddle in the grass! ⟡
⟡ Trigger & Content Warnings: None! ⟡
・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・
You were near the edge of a pond, the cool air of the night causing your skin to prickle.
You gazed at the night sky, smiling as you heard Malleus—your lovely boyfriend—approaching you.
“My dear, what are you doing?”
“Stargazing. Want to join me?”
Malleus sat next to you, wordlessly keeping you company.
That was until you decided that he needed to be cuddled.
“Tsunotaro?”
“Yes, love?”
“Can you lay down for a little while?”
“Of course, but why?”
“You’ll see!”
He eased his back onto the grass, turning his head to look at you inquisitively.
Just as he was about to ask why again, you crawled over and rested your head on his chest.
His heart began beating faster. He adjusted the arm you were laying on to wrap around your waist, his hand resting on your stomach.
You shifted to meet his eyes. His pupils were dilated.
“Thank you, child of man.”
Your heart warmed at the audible adoration in his voice.
“Of course, Tsunotaro! You looked so pretty and you look even better when you’re happy.”
He pressed a kiss to your lips, your bodies intertwining with each other.
・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・
Hours had passed by, and you two had remained in the same spot, occasionally chatting about what you wanted to do together.
“We should go to that castle you mentioned wanting to visit!”
Malleus smiled.
“That sounds perfect, my dear. We’ll have to find a time to go.”
You slowly moved your arm. It had fallen asleep and the sensation was growing unbearable.
Your hand fell on his waist, and you felt his hand cover yours.
“Tsunotaro, do you wish I had more nicknames for you? You have so many for me!”
“I do not mind, whatever you’re happy with. I care that you still enjoy conversation with me, I am not very experienced with it.”
“Of course I love talking to you! You’re so sweet, who wouldn’t like you?”
He chuckled.
“You’d be surprised, love. I believe it is more so my appearance or hobbies that drive people away.”
“Well, I love you for who you are! Plus, gargoyles are surprisingly interesting. You look so excited when you get to talk about them.”
He turned to look you in the eyes, then smiled widely.
A light blush rose on your face—how could he be so beautiful?
“Hm, you look so pretty today… how can you look like this, it’s unfair!”
“How so, my jewel?”
“You’re the most gorgeous prince ever, and I’m some random person! I don’t know how I ever found you.”
His smile softened and his eyes crinkled slightly at the corners.
“Darling, you’re the most perfect person I’ve ever met. I’m truly the lucky one to meet you.”
Your eyes widened and you had to press your face closer to his chest. Maybe you could hide your blushing?
・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・
Malleus eventually heard you drift off to sleep, and he decided he’d prefer you to wake in your own bed rather than on the ground.
Sure, the view here was incredible—the lake almost seemed to glow from the moon and fireflies around, but it wasn’t the safest place.
He carefully lifted you into his arms, smiling at your face squishing against his shoulder.
・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・
He teleported the both of you directly into Ramshackle, and he made his way to your bed.
Malleus delicately rested you onto your bed, admiring your form as you squirmed in your sleep.
You looked so elegant, even with your clothes rumpled from lying in the grass.
He settled into the bed next to you, figuring it’d be best to stay for the night—it certainly wasn’t for his own selfish desire to be the first thing you’d see when you woke… it was to ensure you wouldn’t be startled waking in a place you hadn’t been in when you’d dozed off.

✦ Floyd Leech x childhood crush!merfolk!gn!reader! ✦
✦ Your childhood friend (and crush) finally noticed you watching him! What happens when he likes you, too? ✦
✦ Trigger & Content Warnings: Reader was lowkey stalking him but he doesn’t care. ✦
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
You were sitting in the Mostro Lounge, watching everyone doing their normal routine.
It almost felt creepy with how much you watched them, but it was for an important reason.
Your childhood crush that you hadn’t spoken to in a few years worked here… but he was normally in the kitchen. You’d have to wait until the end of his shift—or whenever he got bored and walked out early—to catch a glimpse of him.
There was no way he remembered you, let alone that he’d recognize you. You were both already second-years and he still hadn’t noticed you, even though you’d tried to talk to him multiple times.
So, you were doomed to yearn hopelessly.
It could be worse, he could’ve noticed you and been purposefully ignoring you.
He hadn’t been watching you, right?
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
Floyd had a slight problem.
This one person had been watching him since he’d started attending Night Raven College.
They even looked awfully similar to this kid he’d been friends with when he was little… his childhood crush that he’d lost touch with.
Every time he had gone to work at the Mostro Lounge, he’d see them at the end of his shift.
He was preparing to confront them, this was just plain weird… even a bit creepy.
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
Today was the day Floyd would ask them what they were doing.
He left the kitchen and made a beeline towards them, making direct and aggressive eye contact.
“Hey, you!”
You squeaked when you saw him walking towards you.
“Me?”
“Yeah. Why’re you always watching me?”
You blinked, trying to figure out how to explain yourself.
“Would you believe me if I told you I was your classmate in kindergarten?”
He looked genuinely surprised, then started looking you up and down.
“Huh… it is you!”
Floyd smiled widely and pulled you into a bone-crushing hug.
“Eek! F-Floyd… I can’t breathe…”
He sighed dramatically and released you from his embrace.
“So, why were you just watching me? Ya could’ve just come up and talked to me.”
“Well, I didn’t want it to be awkward if you didn’t remember me.”
“‘Course I’d remember you! I always remember people I actually care about.”
Oh… that wasn’t what you were expecting him to say.
“I’m glad you remember me, you were my best friend when we were little.”
Floyd looked touched—or maybe hungry? Take your pick.—and smiled at you.
“Hey, would you like to hang out sometime?”
“Sure!”
This was going surprisingly well!
“Alright, here’s my number.”
He took your phone and texted himself, then waved to you and ran off somewhere.
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
That night, Jade was sitting in his and Floyd’s room. He noticed that Floyd was texting someone for a while—longer than his attention span normally lasted.
“Who’re you talking to?”
Floyd looked up and noticed Jade watching him.
“That one kid I was friends with in kindergarten, do you remember them?”
Jade took a moment to recollect, then vaguely answered.
“Well, they go here and we’ve just been catching up. Nothing else.”
Jade nodded, trying to hold in a laugh.
“Right.”
Floyd stared at him before going back to his phone.
Jade stepped out of the room, deciding to call his mother.
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
“Jade?”
“Hello, Mother!”
“Ah, hello! What’s wrong, did something happen?”
“No, nothing bad happened… though I do think Floyd is falling for a friend of his.”
Georgina squealed with delight.
“Oh, my baby is growing up! I can’t believe this! I’ll have to call him soon, will you keep me updated if anything happens between them?”
“Of course.”
The two chattered on for a few more minutes, as if Georgina wasn’t always texting them, too.
Jade eventually hung up and entered the room again, seeing Floyd had fallen asleep.
He chuckled and rolled his eyes, then went to his bed and drifted off.
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
A few weeks later, you were waking up after a long night of chatting.
Floyd had texted you for what felt like hours the night prior, and the two of you had caught up… then flirted a bit before the both of you had fallen asleep.
“I can’t believe this is going so well… Floyd is so sweet!”
You probably sounded crazy, but that was alright.
A few minutes later, you were dressed and heading out the door when you saw Floyd running towards you.
He pulled you into a quick squeeze.
“Oh, Floyd! What’s going on?”
Floyd ignored your question.
“Hey, meet me at the courtyard after sunset, okay?”
You nodded, a bit confused but willing to listen.
“Yeah, but-”
He disappeared before you could ask anything.
“Huh, that was weird.”
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
After your busy day ended, you walked to the courtyard, seeing Floyd waving towards you from the center.
You approached him, smiling at the bouquet of flowers he offered you.
“Oh, thank you! These are beautiful.”
They were your favorites, and they seemed to be fresh.
You were about to ask Floyd why he’d called you here when he cleared his throat and started talking.
“So, I just wanted to tell you… I’ve liked you since we were in kindergarten together. I’m not very good at this, but I wanted to ask if you’d like to go out with me.”
His was practically pleading with you, and he was being surprisingly polite and honest.
“Floyd…”
You wrapped your arms around his neck.
“I’d love to go out with you!”
He grinned widely at that, then moved to be eye level with you.
Floyd stared at your lips longingly, then looked in your eyes for permission.
You nodded and leaned forward.
His lips were strangely warm, and he was gentle for a moment before the kiss grew rougher and messy.
You pulled away, seeing a blush rising on his face. Your ears and face had heated, so you assumed you were doing the same.
“I’m so glad you said yes.”
Floyd’s voice lost its teasing lilt, just sounding incredibly soft and sweet.
Before you could agree, the spark in his eyes grew brighter and the smirk came back.
“C’mon, let’s go!”
He intertwined his hands with yours and pulled you towards him, then he took off running.
You started running so that you wouldn’t be pulled behind him, giggling at the shift in mood.
“Where are we going?”
“The woods!”
“The what?”
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
The two of you were deep in the woods.
Floyd had led you to a small clearing that was coated with gardenias and moonflowers.
This area seemed to come alive in the dark, with the flowers opening and remaining open throughout the night; fireflies perched on trees and the flowers, providing a light source that made it all the more beautiful.
“This is amazing, Floyd!”
He smiled at you and took both of your hands.
The two of you slowly danced in the clearing, whispering and giggling to each other.
This was perfect.
You’d never thought that a date with Floyd could be this calm, but the intimacy made it all the better.
‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹
You ended up sitting in a tall tree next to Floyd.
He had an arm wrapped around your waist and your head rested against his shoulder.
“It’s beautiful out tonight!”
You were staring at the stars, enjoying the beautiful view of the cosmos.
“It is. It really is.”
Floyd mumbled.
If you had looked at him, you’d notice that he was just watching you, not even bothering to glance at the sky.

“Shoot, are you okay?”
Ace was looking at you with concerned eyes, though you could see some fear in them as well.
Deuce smacked him on the back of the head.
“Ace, if you hadn’t knocked over half of the ingredients, they wouldn’t have been turned into a cat!”
You stared at your ‘best friends’, though they didn’t feel like it at the moment.
They’d had a mishap during potionology that resulted in you being turned into a cat.
You hissed at them, and they stopped arguing.
“Uh, you good?”
You rolled your eyes—you didn’t know cats could do that.
Deciding that it’d be best to leave the idiots to fight it out, you started running from them.
They shouted and tried to chase after you, but you ducked under a fence in Heartslabyul that they couldn’t jump easily.
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩
You were padding down a familiar hallway; the pathway to Ignihyde’s lounge.
It was a place you visited often, you’d always wait there and chat with Ortho before Idia—his tablet, of course—met you there.
He always greeted you via tablet before you ‘snuck’ into his dorm.
No one ever noticed or cared that you were constantly in Idia’s room, Ortho was just happy to have a “future sibling-in-law!”
“Oh, a cat?”
You glances up and saw Ortho staring at you.
He gently lifted you and flew to Idia’s room, knocking on the door and throwing it open without a response.
Idia shrieked.
“GAH! ORTHO, PLEASE GIVE ME TIME TO RESPOND!”
“Oh, sorry, big brother!”
Idia sighed, then paused when he saw you cradled in Ortho’s arms.
“Aw, a kitty?”
“Yes, I found them in the lounge. I have no idea how they got there, but they seemed to know the way.”
Idia crept over to you, lifting you from Ortho’s arms and slowly petting your head.
“Thanks for bringing them here, Ortho. Maybe they’re someone’s pet.”
“Actually, Idia, my scans say that they’re-“
A crash echoed from some hallway.
“Oh, I’ll go check what that was!”
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩
Idia sat on his bed, you were curled into a ball on his lap.
“Now, kitty, what’s your name?”
He scratched at your neck, and you purred.
He practically had heart eyes, he adored you so much.
You wondered how he’d feel if he knew that he was cradling his partner and not a random stray.
“Hm, you’re so soft. You must have an owner, there’s no way a stray could be so neatly groomed…”
You think that was a compliment. You decided to take it as one.
There was a knock at Idia’s door.
“Big brother, may I come in?”
“Yes, Ortho!”
Ortho carefully opened the door, not wanting to spook you.
“As I was saying earlier, that’s not a stray.”
“Yes, I’m aware… is there a ‘but’ to this situation?”
“That’s your partner, big brother.”
Idia’s hair started to tint pink, then suddenly exploded into bright magenta hues.
“Eh?”
“I asked Ace and Deuce if they’d seen them, and they said there was an accident in potionology. Plus, my scans kept saying that the cat was them.”
“…oh.”
Idia looked like he was going to die of embarrassment. A drop of sweat made its way from his temple to his chin, more following its path.
“W-well, I suppose we should bring them back to Grimshackle, right?”
Ortho nodded and hummed, reaching to pick you up.
You felt bad about doing this, but you swatted at him.
Idia’s lap was comfortable, and you loved seeing the relaxed side of him. Therefore, it only made sense to stay exactly where you were.
“N-Name! You can’t just do th-that!”
Idia scolded you, but you started to creep even closer to him, rubbing your snout on his chest.
His hair turned bright red and his hands shook a bit.
Ortho smiled and left the room, picking up on the hint.
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩
It was late at night, and Idia was playing a visual novel game he’d heard you recommend a few weeks ago.
He’d ask you what choices he should make, and watch you bat at the mouse to move it to the choice you liked.
You kept pranking him by choosing the flirty options. It was hilarious to watch him have to stand and pace around the room before sitting back down.
“So, which option do you think we should choose?”
You were about to bat at his mouse when you feel a tingling sensation all over your body.
You hopped onto the ground, the sensation growing.
It was almost unbearable, then suddenly, you were back to your normal self.
“Oh! Finally, that took forever.”
“EEK!”
Idia put his hands over his face, his hair glowing pink already.
“Idia, love, I’ve been here all day. Did you forget I wasn’t just a cat?”
There was a silence slightly too long to be innocent.
“Idia!”
You slapped his arm teasingly.
He looked at you with wide eyes, then stood from his chair and hugged you. His face was buried in your neck, and his warm hair caused a slight flush to rise, just from the heat.
“Love, can we sleep? I’m tired.”
Idia hugged you tighter, which you took as a yes.
He let go for a second, and you grabbed his hand, dragging him to the bed.
You stopped at the foot of the bed, pushing Idia onto it.
He landed with a light thud.
You crawled onto him, laying your head on his chest and sprawling out.
His hair continued heating and growing red, but he wrapped his arms around your waist anyway.
“Idia?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I take a picture of us?”
“U-uh, sure. But why?”
“I wanna send it to Ace and Deuce. They tried to protect me while I was a cat but they just let me run off.”
Idia nodded, shifting so that his face wouldn’t be visible in the picture.
You pulled out your phone and turned to take the photo.
The only part of Idia you could see were his arms around your waist. You showed him the photo and he smiled, approving it.
“Let’s see…”
You opened your group chat with Ace and Deuce.
You typed a passive aggressive message and sent the photo.
They replied almost immediately, saying that they were glad you’re okay—Ace didn’t apologize for losing you, but Deuce did.
“Idia, look.”
You showed him the chat, snickering at Deuce’s desperate plea for forgiveness.
He chuckled, that smirk that you loved so much appearing.

✶ General Lilia Vanrouge x fae!gentle giant!gn!reader! ✶ (lol that’s a mouthful)
✶ You and your secret partner are really bad at hiding your love… but you somehow do! ✶

⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
You made your made through the camp.
The Briarland Army had taken residence in a small clearing within a forest to rest and recuperate from a tough battle.
You hadn’t been injured much, mainly just superficial wounds. You and the healthier soldiers were tending to the injured, as the medics were overwhelmed with the wounded.
You were sent to fetch the General.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
“Have you seen the General anywhere? A medic requires his attention.”
This question was repeated to practically everyone in the camp, but you had yet to find him.
“Where are you, Lilia?”
The quiet mumble seemed to do the trick, as you suddenly felt a new presence watching you.
“I heard someone was looking for me?”
You turned to see the man you were looking for.
“Ah, General! You’re needed in the medics’ tents.”
He nodded and turned around, but not without sending a hidden look that you knew all too well.
It signaled that he’d expect you to meet him near sunrise, when the troops were supposed to rest.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
Lilia heard footsteps approaching.
He went on high alert before recognizing the slight hesitation at the last step.
Lilia relaxed, knowing exactly who was waiting for him.
“Come in, love.”
You ducked down, careful to not hit your head on the tent flap.
“Lilia, what’s up?”
You smiled as your gazes met.
He gestured for you to sit, then he smirked.
“Can’t a man miss his partner?”
He paused, admiring the dawning realization on your face, then squeaked as you pulled him into your arms.
“Aw, darling! Do you need cuddles~?”
He huffed at your teasing, trying to pry himself free.
“N-no! I just… wanted your company.”
You loosened your grip on him, an adoring smile forming as he squinted.
“I’m glad you’re getting soft… that means we’ll get to retire soon and move into a little cottage and spend every moment together.”
Lilia crossed his arms.
“Love. We’re only 300. We have a long way to go before retirement.”
You sighed.
“I know, I just want to be able to kiss you in public without the entire camp going into shock.”
“You were too close when you didn’t fully shut the tent. They almost saw you in here with me!”
You chuckled.
“Yeah, that was my bad. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t cuddle you now!”
Lilia rolled his eyes, but he didn’t put up a fight when you pulled him even closer and started spooning him in the blankets.
He slowly let his eyes shut, only relaxing when he felt your warm arms around his chest.
Just as he was about to fall into a deep sleep, he heard you whisper.
“Don’t worry, I’m not gonna let you forget about that squeak earlier.”
He nearly woke the entire camp with how loud he yelled your name. Thankfully, his tent was a good distance from the rest of the soldiers.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
You woke earlier than you’d prefer—nearly half an hour before sunset, when the soldiers wouldn’t wake yet—to sneak back to your tent.
You could barely recall the days when you and Lilia had actually shared a real bed—it had to have been before this war, so around a century ago.
Lilia groaned when he felt your arms recede from around him.
“Ugh, why can’t we just have a day to sleep in? Doesn’t midnight sound much better?”
“Yes, it does, but we still are in a war. Trust me, the second this thing ends, I plan on sleeping for at least a week straight.”
Lilia smiled and slowly opened his eyes before remembering this wasn’t when the two of you had a nice, cozy home.
He jolted up and immediately started pulling his armor on.
“Oh, high and mighty General, do you require assistance with your hair?”
He glared at you.
“Shut up and help me out here?”
You smirked. He was always like this when you tried to tease him too early in the morning.
The two of you made quick work of the tangles in his hair before you rushed out of his tent to get ready.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
You ‘woke up’ and got dressed for the day—night? You were nocturnal… you’d be spending at least a decade wondering about this—before joining your fellow soldiers.
Rations were distributed and everyone ate before being given orders of where to help out for your waking hours.
You passed by Lilia a few times, the two of you sharing knowing glances whenever something dumb happened among your cohorts.
The soldiers may have started picking up on things, but they would never piece it together completely—Lilia was too aggressive for them to figure out your relationship.
That didn’t stop rumors from spreading, though.
“Don’t you think it’s weird that the General is always staring at them?”
“Yeah, it’s almost like there’s something going on between them.”
The first soldier chuckled.
“C’mon, you can’t be serious. He’s so aggressive! And they’re the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.”
“You make a good point. I saw them giving their rations to an injured guy the other day.”
They continued chatting, coming up with increasingly wild theories about the tension between you and your partner.
“Boys. Do we need to have a chat?”
The men turned around, flinching when they saw the look of disdain on Lilia’s face.
“Er- no! Sorry, sir. We were just coming up with outlandish ideas to fight our… boredom!”
“Ah, you’re bored? Well, I can help with that. The two of you are now going to reorganize every single ration and update our inventory.”
The men knew better than to talk back, so they accepted defeat and rushed to their new assignment.
“Having trouble, Lilia?”
He turned around to see you crossing your arms and smirking.
“Nope. Just dealing with insufferable brats.”
You smiled and pulled him close to you.
“Aw, babe. I’m sorry! Maybe we should announce our relationship, it’d probably make it much easier for us to spend time together.”
He smiled and stood on his toes, trying to press a kiss to your neck.
You subtly bent your knees to let him think—emphasis on think!—that he wasn’t that much shorter than you.
He felt you press kisses on his head, then run your fingers through his silky hair.
You slow your affectionate attack, not wanting anyone to see the two of you.
Lilia, however, decides that doesn’t matter.
He pulls you into an empty tent, crawling on top of you to press kisses along your neck and arms.
“Mmph… Lilia?”
He pauses, looking at you with betrayed eyes.
“Yes?”
He almost sounds sad—he ‘secretly’ hates having to stop.
“It’s the middle of the night, everyone is awake. We shouldn’t be doing this.”
He sighs and starts to move off of you when the two of you hear a soldier walking towards the tent.
“Did I leave that crate in here?”
The two of you make eye contact, then rush to move out of the way of the tent flap.
Lilia is able to nearly disappear into the shadows, but you have to quickly rearrange the blankets to make a barrier.
Thankfully, this soldier seems to not pay much attention, as he just grabs the crate and leaves.
Lilia checks that the soldier isn’t doubling back, then helps you fix the blankets.
“You’re right… you’ll still come cuddle later, right?”
He winks at you, then goes back for one last kiss.
“Lilia!”
You nearly shriek.
This man was going to be the death of you.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
The soldiers had finally recovered after nearly a week of rest.
You spotted Lilia chatting with Baur.
The two men hadn’t spoken in a while, mainly because Baur had been busy helping the medics heal.
“Alright. We’ll head towards the southern border.”
Baur went to relay the order to the rest of the men, then smiled when he saw you approaching Lilia.
Baur was the only person in the army to know about you and Lilia’s relationship, but he ensured he kept his mouth closed.
Drama within the ranks never helped.
“Hey, love.”
You smiled as Lilia rushed to you.
“Lilia! How’s Baur doing?”
Lilia rolled his eyes.
“Y’know, you could always ask him about how he’s doing and only talk to me when you actually want to.”
You apologized, pulling Lilia into your chest and cooing over him.
“Let me go!”
He shoved away from you, a light blush rising to his face.
“Aw, babe! You’re blushing!”
He scoffed and turned his head.
“N-no I’m not!”
You chuckled and nodded.
“Sure you aren’t…“
He glared at you, then stomped off to finish packing his tent up.
You went on your way to collect your things and prepare for the journey ahead.
⋆.ೃ𐦍*:・⋆𐦍.ೃ࿔*:・
Around two or three centuries later—you could barely remember at this point—the war had ended.
Lilia had stepped down from his position, and you’d followed suit.
Of course, he’d only left because of the tragedy of Maleanor’s death; this didn’t mean you weren’t excited about finally getting to rest, though.
“Lilia, can we go look for somewhere to live?”
He looked at you, then smiled.
“Whatever you’d like, love.”
You grinned widely, resting your chin on his head.
The both of you snickered, Lilia finally being able to relax a bit.
“How about we find a cottage? You’ve mentioned it before.”
You nearly teared up at Lilia’s suggestion.
“Darling, are you okay? Was that a bad idea?”
He was panicking, thinking he’d misremembered something.
“No.. I do want that! I’m just surprised that you remembered it, I haven’t mentioned it in forever.”
Lilia paused, studying your face to see if you were being serious.
“You’re joking, right? I remember everything about you, you’re perfection incarnate!”
You blushed and looked away, trying to avoid the inevitable teasing that’d surely come if he saw how flustered you were.
“Aw, you’re so sweet, Lilia!”
You leaned down and showered his face with kisses, avoiding his hands trying to block you.
“L-love! We’re still in public!”
You paused and let a small pout form on your face, a pleading look glimmering in your eyes.
“Baby, please?”
He sighed, taking a moment to look around before smirking.
“Alright then, let’s go.”
He grabbed your wrist and started running, dragging you along.
Lilia didn’t stop until the two of you were in the middle of the woods, a strangely secluded spot densely packed with trees and rocks.
“There’s a more covered area over here.”
He released you and walked to an outcrop from a hill.
It was perfect—shaded so that when day came, Lilia wouldn’t complain about the sun, it had some glowing mushrooms that gave the perfect amount of light for an impromptu date and had an abundance of moss for cushioning.
You followed him, sitting down and pulling him with you. He landed on your lap, his nose brushing yours.
“Well, I guess it’s time for more smooches~!”
He couldn’t escape quick enough, you’d immediately latched onto his shoulders.
By daybreak, his entire face was bright red and you looked very satisfied with your work.
Lilia yawned, only just realizing how long the two of you had been out in the woods.
“Well, I guess we should sleep soon, we need to find that cottage for you.”
You smiled and turned your back to him.
You’d finally gotten him to admit he liked spooning you, even if you were much larger than him.
His arms wrapped around your waist, dragging you to his chest.
“Sweet dreams, love.”
“Sweet dreams, darling!”

You and Lilia were walking through the woods behind Night Raven College.
It was your anniversary—a few hundred years, you’d have to check your tally to be sure—and the two of you had been trying to just have a relaxing day together.
The relaxing day hadn’t been going so well, nothing strange had happened per se, but the fact that none of the boys on Diasomnia had even mentioned the anniversary was the strange thing.
“Hey, love. Do you hear that?”
You paused, listening for whatever Lilia was referring to.
A soft rustling and distant murmurs came from your right.
“The talking?”
“Yes.”
“It sounds like Malleus and Silver…”
You heard a familiar shouting, then desperate shushing.
Lilia laughed.
“And Sebek, it seems.”
You turned to him.
“Should we check it out?”
“Yes, that’d probably be best.”
The two of you made your way through the forest, heading towards the sound of your children.

“Boys, what’s going on here?”
You approached first, Lilia walking towards them from behind.
Malleus turned and smiled.
“Ah, we were waiting for you.”
Silver looked up from the picnic blanket he and Sebek were sitting on.
“Mother, we wanted to surprise you and Father for your anniversary.”
“Ma’am, our apologies if we worried you.”
Sebek seemed nervous, perhaps expecting a scolding for not being in the dorms this late.
Lilia chuckled, startling Silver, who’d begun to drift off.
“Ah, there you are. We knew you wouldn’t be far.”
In a blink, Lilia drifted over to you, taking your hand and leading you to the blanket.
“Seems our boys are more sneaky than we thought!”
“It appears so.”
You turned to Malleus, noticing the small package he held.
“What’s that?”
He grinned and walked towards you, gently handing you the box.
You and Lilia opened it together, finding a small portrait of the two of you when you were younger, during the war.
“Oh, wow!”
You ran a finger over it, feeling the texture of the dried paint.
“How’d you boys find out what we used to look like?”
Silver perked up.
“Oh, we found some old sketches of the both of you, plus a few letters and document with some descriptions.”
Lilia grabbed a second, smaller portrait from the box.
“Hm… what’s this-“
His eyes widened and he covered his mouth with a hand.
You looked over, feeling your eyes well up a bit.
It was a portrait of the five of you, back when Silver and Sebek were kids.
Sebek was clinging to Malleus’ legs, Silver was grinning even though he was missing a tooth, and the two of you were in the middle, Lilia wrapping an arm around you and the other around Silver.
Lilia sniffled, then wiped at his eyes.
“Boys… this is beautiful… thank you.”
You studied each of their faces, then looked back at the portrait.
“This is an amazing gift, we never could’ve asked for a better family!”
You and Lilia ushered them closer, pulling them into a group hug.
Sebek seemed a bit uncomfortable at the sudden contact—this wasn’t his biological family—but appreciated the sentiment.
“Alright, we should all get back to the dorms soon, okay?”
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩
The boys had gone to their dorms, but you had lingered in Lilia’s for a moment.
“They’re all so sweet… how did we ever deserve them?”
“I have no idea, love. Though, their mother is even better~!”
You laughed and gently slapped his shoulder.
“You old flirt, will you ever learn?”
“Ah, but I don’t need to learn more, I’ve already found the girl of my dreams. Who needs more?”
You smiled, then kissed him.
“Happy anniversary, Lilia.”
“Happy anniversary, my love.”

Silver heard a strange noise coming from the Diasomnia Lounge.
“Hm… who could be out there? It’s the middle of the night.”
He quietly crept to the lounge, immediately backtracking when he realized what he’d seen.
Now, how was he supposed to get the image of his parents making out to go away?

Rook watched you enter the lobby of Pomefiore.
His partner.
Sa beauté préférée.
“Rook!”
You smiled and his heart soared.
“Mon amour! Pourquoi m'avez-vous honoré de votre présence?”
You giggled, his flowery language reminded you of a prince from a fairy tale you’d read when you were a little kid.
“I have a surprise for you, but I need to prepare it. It may take a little while, but could you try to not watch me while I get it ready? I want your reaction to be true!”
“Of course, mon ange. Whatever you need! Please inform me when you need to be left alone.”
His smile brightened.
Your heart beat fast, even though you’d been dating him for quite some time now. You’d never get used to how beautiful he was.
“Thanks, Rook! I’m going to get started on it, so maybe an hour or two alone? I’ll text you once I have it hidden.”
He nodded and pressed a kiss to your cheek, then waved as you left.
He sighed, a lovesick expression forming on his face.
A partner like you came once in a century, how did he get so lucky to be the one graced with your love?
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
You were practically vibrating with excitement.
Back in your world, you had been talented at opera singing since you were young, even becoming famous as a young child.
Now, you kept the skill but didn’t have the fame, which was honestly a relief. It meant surprises like this were completely unexpected, even to your very observant boyfriend.
The sheet music to this piece was scattered across your bed. Grim stared at the papers, then at you.
“So, you’re gonna sing this?”
“What’s with the tone? You don’t believe that I can sing?”
“You don’t seem like the singing type.”
You rolled your eyes and shook your head fondly.
“Well, I’m good at it… here, can you listen to the recording? I need someone to listen for mistakes.”
“You’re MY henchman, not the other way around! I ain’t doing this for nothing.”
“Once I perfect it and sing it for Rook, I’ll get you extra tuna.”
“…hmph, fine!”
Grim listened to the song, his eyes widening when he realized that you were confident you could sing it.
The song ended. Grim nearly fell backwards when you started warming up your voice and hit your highest note.
“Woah! How long have ya been able to do that?”
“A while. I’ve been singing since I was little.”
He nodded and turned to the sheet music.
“Are ya done with the fancy stuff yet? I wanna hear this coming from my henchman.”
You chuckled and continued warming up.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
“…Mais si je t'aime, si je t'aime, Prends garde à toi!”
You sighed as you finished your third run through of the aria.
“How’d it sound? Did I fix the mistakes?”
“Sounded good to me. Maybe ya should have someone else double check?”
“That’s a surprisingly good idea.”
“Thanks- wait! I can make good ideas! I make ‘em all the time!”
You giggled and picked up your phone.
“Hm… let’s go see Ace and Deuce. I don’t think they’re busy right now.”
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
You entered the Heartslabyul dorms, looking for Ace and Deuce.
“Hey, Prefect! Got your message, what’s this song you wanted us to listen to?”
Ace ran up to you, Deuce close behind him.
“It’s an aria—Habanera. I’m surprising Rook with it, so I want it to be perfect.”
“Well, we’d love to help!”
Deuce smiled and Ace elbowed him in the side.
You rushed them to a more private area to sing it without eavesdropping.
“Alright, I’ll play the recording, then I’ll sing it. Can you listen for any mistakes?”
They nodded and listened to the recording.
Before they could go off on a tangent, you cleared your throat and started singing.
Deuce froze in shock and Ace’s jaw dropped.
“Okay, that sounded perfect. I’m not even joking, you’re amazing!”
Ace encouraged you, but Deuce was still wide eyed.
“Y-yeah, you’re actually the best singer I’ve ever heard.”
You blushed and waved off their compliments, a goofy smile on your lips.
“Aw, thanks! So, you think it sounds good?”
“Mhm!”
They said it in unison, then looked at each other.
Ace said jinx first. Deuce pouted and mimed zipping his lips shut, then walked off to scrounge up a soda.
“He’s gonna love it.”
You thanked Ace and ran back to Ramshackle.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
A few more days passed. You’d been practicing your performance nonstop and felt completely confident with it.
You decided it was time to show Rook your skills.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
Rook was in his room, finishing up the last of his homework.
He heard his phone ping. He looked over and smiled when he saw your name appear.
“Ah, mon trésor!”
Rook immediately checked your message.
“An invitation to Ramshackle? Well, perhaps this is the surprise…”
He rose, deciding his work could wait for a moment.
He quickly snuck out the window—although Vil wasn’t even in the Pomefiore dorms at the moment, he could’ve just left like a normal person.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
He stood at your window, waiting patiently for you to unlock it.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you noticed him there—he always did this yet it scared you every time.
He climbed into the room, smiling and resting his hands on your hips.
“Mon cœur, est-ce la surprise dont tu parlais?”
He was referring to your outfit.
You had donned something more fitting for the story of Carmen—where the aria you’d prepared was from.
“Well, it’s part of it! Sit down, I have more for you!”
You placed a hand on his chest, kissing him deeply before shooing him back.
He obeyed, resting on your bed.
Rook was about to compliment your outfit when you cleared your throat and pressed something on your phone.
Music swelled from a small speaker you’d set up, and you began to sing.
His eyes widened as he realized that you weren’t just singing about love, you were singing it in the language he preferred.
His heart swelled with pride and in awe as you continued.
Each word wove perfectly into his view of you—he could practically picture you in the story itself. His eyes began to well up with emotion, and he had to cover his mouth.
Perhaps, if he remained silent, this moment would never end. You’d continue to sing for him for eternity and he’d be able to bask in your beauty for eternity.
Unfortunately, the aria could not go on forever, and you opened your eyes as you finished singing.
“So? What do you think?”
You gasped and rushed to him when you saw the tears running down his face.
“Are you okay? Rook, were the lyrics upsetting?”
He shook his head, a wide smile revealing itself.
He pulled you close, pressing his face into your neck.
“Mon amour, je ne pourrais jamais souhaiter plus. You are perfection encapsulated in the most beautiful form to ever grace this world.”
You blushed and tried to pull back. You wanted to see his face.
“No, not yet. Please, allow me to remain like this for a few more moments.”
You nodded the best you could—his face still in your neck—and eased yourself onto the bed. You laid down, your hand rubbing at his back.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
“Love, are you sure you’re okay? You’ve been like this for hours.”
“Je viens de… you are too perfect to let go. Please, grace me with your voice over and over again. I’ve never experienced such pure love as I just did.”
You smiled, running your hands through his hair.
You’d need to start doing this more often if it meant he’d be so cuddly.
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
Rook woke before you did.
He wished he’d been able to share one more kiss before you’d fallen asleep, but he wasn’t exactly complaining—any time spent with you was the best time of his life.
Your slow, even breathing had lured him into a deep sleep. He’d never felt this rested before.
“Unfortunately, my dear, I must go.”
He whispered in your ear, then pressed soft kisses across your face and shoulders.
He slowly lifted himself off of you, careful to keep you in your peaceful state.
“Hm, I’ll have to write a note for you…”
Rook rushed to grab a sheet of paper from your desk, writing a letter to you.
What was contained within it, well, that’s a secret for just you and him to share.
