Tbh, Xing Gui might even be a little better since she immediately forgave Xing Jiu and never thought anything bad of him when he tried to save her and make Huo Yi the ruler of the 3 realms, like she still loved him and knew that he was only doing it to save the person he loves most

I like how Xing Jiu is the the one in their group who’s like, hella ready to die but, doesn’t in the end; he’s even one of the last people standing after the war. We all know he probably feels guilty af because of how Xing Gui decided to join Yuan Ji and became the west guardian (even though, it’s really not his fault he blames himself still)
Like, he goes into battle headstrong and in full force ready to kick ass but, deep down he’s probably already wishing somebody would just kill him because he can’t stand being alive without Xing Gui, he blames himself so much and hides it by working and working till he can’t anymore and we all know he’s doing this because it’s the right thing to do and he’s serving his king but, he just wants to drop down dead. He can’t even or doesn’t have the strength at all to go home because he knows every place, corner, room, crook, and cranny of their home will remind him of Xing Gui and he can’t live with the fact that he’s never going to see his sister ever again and he just can’t cope with her death and he’ll forever blame himself for being the careless brother even when everyone knows that it was Xing Gui’s own decision and that he has no fault in this at all.
But Xing Jiu still blames himself and gosh, I can go on and on about this but, I love how he’s one of the survivors cuz it hurts so fucking badly and I love it.
I still hate how my OTP is so sad tho lol but I love the tragedy =w=
