Event #1--An Unstoppable Force
Prison escapee and notorious mutant Juggernaut has formed a trail of destruction, barreled past the Instituteâs initial security measures and smashed through the entrance like a wrecking ball. In the absence of most X-Men--many of whom are away handling another crisis--and with the remaining members already subdued by the intruder, the school and its students have been left vulnerable. Or have they? Now is their opportunity to determine this!
Objective: The students must try work together to stop the Juggernaut from harming them or their peers, and save the school. Removal of his helmet is key as it is the only thing that shields his mind from telepathic intrusions or influence--his greatest known weakness. Other offenses may slow him down but he is otherwise considered unstoppable thanks to near-unparalleled brute strength.
Each character currently being played in the RP has been grouped below. The groups must then take turns on a thread writing a brief face-to-face interaction with these group members and Juggernaut. Within your group, you can decide the best order to write your face-to-face (i.e. Character A starts, Character B replies, Character C replies, Character D replies, and then back to Character A again). The groups can write for Juggernaut, or Ace (Tabitha/Boom Boom) has offered to write as Juggarnaut for this event. Although this event is happening in 1 day in-character, each group will start writing their thread a couple of days apart, so that the next group can reference the previous groupâs efforts and incorporate it in their own characterâs attempts.Â
Your characters can react to Juggernautâs presence at the school, doing their best to face him, impromptu strategizing & teamwork, and overall attempts at putting Danger Room exercises into a real life situation. Chat amongst your group, but also decide for yourself how your character handles the situation. Will they be of any help at all? Will they be injured? Are they able to help other students to safety? Bear in mind your characterâs known/discovered strengths as well as their weaknesses and drawbacks with their mutations.

Remember, these face-to-face threads donât need to carry on for too long. To give everyone a few days to get replies in and steer their threads towards an eventual end, the last day to write on your groupâs thread (and bring it to a conclusion) will be Monday, July 2nd. Members are welcome to suspend other threads to focus primarily or solely on these event threads for the duration. Please be sure to use the tag âxieventâ for your initial thread post.
