You and me on Vacation - Emily Henry
Why oh Why can’t Emily write dialogue between me and my potential dates?
Seriously. I’ve had conversations with people who are perfectly nice. Good looking and potentially wonderful people and they’ve crashed and burned, why? Because one (sometimes both) of us are horrendously awkward. I just want the wit and ease that Emily writes.
Alex and Poppy were wonderful and they’re relationship felt authentic, and the highs and lows were believable and expected in a relationship that’s been as long standing as there’s. It was sweet and fluffy whilst having enough angst to keep me with my nose buried in its pages well into the night.
Emily Henry has wormed her way into my heart and ‘feels’ and has become both an auto buy for me as well as an author whose books I will count down the days until there next release.

Review: The Mask Falling - Samantha Shannon
Woah, What an addition to an already great series. The Mask Falling managed to round out the world and characters in ways I didn’t think was possible.
This book was an emotional roller-coaster – but I enjoyed it. The characters are some of the most realistic I’ve read in any fantasy series and I’m still as addicted to the dynamics as I have been in previous books. At this point I don’t know how I feel about any of them but I’m enjoying the disquiet in my brain.
There is so much I want to say but so many things I cant say for fear of ruining the previous books. But I will say this. I think it was my favourite so far and that every page left me reeling. I finished it in a state of shock and in need for therapy.
All this said, I can’t recommend the series enough.
It’s been a ✨ week ✨ but with six books left to 200 and curly hair coming back to play - it may be on an up?
Review: The Road Trip
I really love Beth O’Learys books. In a read them, do a happy dance and pass them to my mother way… and I only give my Mum the best books ( I may make a list) and I heard her giggling her way through on Holiday and she’s an accountant. I didn’t know they could giggle. But my mother was side-splitting laughing whilst reading paragraphs to her partner – and she read it next.
Without just harping on about how wonderful this book was (which I’m very much capable of doing) I want to just shimmy over to the way that Beth balances a forced proximity romantic trope with genuinely heart breaking storylines without breaking her stride.
I looked forward to both the past and present chapters (normally I have a habit of favouring one and glazing over for the other I’m ashamed to say!
This book was uplifting and hopeful a joyous read and I honestly cannot recommend it enough – Grab it. Read it and find an accountant to make giggle.
