So, this is part of the inkwell curse. It originates from the au Voidtale. It's where Xera came from. It forms from a crack in the soul in the au after it's plunged into the void of it's au, most become amalgamites and the few who do survive are stuck with part of the void in their soul. With Xera, she had a very damaged soul. So she has a lot. It starts out as a ink shaped splotch, often black, but when controlled (which grace period to learn is 3 days to a week) it can turn another shade of dark blue, purple, or green. Blue is the strongest one, purple is the fastest one, and green is a medium level of smarts. Aka it enhances. Just like many things, with great power comes great responsibility, not just with having it, but also maintaining yourself. The stronger the inkwell curse, the more it takes from you. If you use it too much in a negative mindset, especially anger, itll turn you into an amalgamite, and it'll teleport you back to the void where you're consumed by the mass you've become. (You basically become a void sludge that adds to the void itself.) It's also highly reactive mostly with monster souls, but it can afflict any soul, human, monster, husked, or hybrid.

This is how Xeras started at first. It sorta looked like a skull in a way. There is a way to undo the inkwell curse. You have to meet a blessed being. A blessed being has the same standards of soul control, but instead of it killing you if you use it too much, it ends up dissapearing. And not only does that chip a part of the soul it's bound to, but it also weakens the immunity to a nonvoid being, making the said previous blessed being more susceptible to nonvoid transmission. It is transmitted either by entering the blood via wound, ingestion, and by being in the void. Specifically voidtale, but any amalgamite can spread it.

Yes. I have a lot to my au. Voidtale was my very first au and I've spent years working on it.... Just never had the courage to share my au except for when I was just making it. (I got so many insults. 😒)

This is a strong blessing mark, and only one known human that got trapped in the anti void has it. Xera is close with said human, but she cannot go near, or else her body will quite literally go up in smoke. And shell lose whatever limb in the process. The curse is a symbiotic to Xera but an otherwise parasitic base functionality, meant only to feed the voidtale void. The humans name is Angelina.

There is an easy way to suppress the pain and quickly recover from over-usage, and that's magic infused/magic restorative food in the markets of sciencetale and Dreamtale. (I say those two because that's what the au of Voidtale was originally based off before it was destroyed and not able to be recovered, a sciencetale and a Dreamtale crossover.)

okay. story time!

shortly after HoT released, there was a small bug in the game, where you could use a combination of mesmer portals and jumping mushrooms to randomly get one of two things to happen

1: get an extreme jumping boost, that essentially smashed the character against the level's upper border. the model clipped through the ceiling and you directly run over to Xera, visiting her early. There was no way to get back down, so we essentially had a picnic 200m above Xera's head.

2: get an extreme NO-jumping boost. the character was stuck in the jumping mushroom animation, but couldnt move anymore, which resulted in 3 high speed rotating balls of random limbs getting dragged through escort, KC, and TC via mesmer portals. Intrestingly, they could still swap weapons. They could also not use any music instruments, except the Super Adventure Boom Box for some reason.

𝐗𝐞𝐫𝐚  So yesterday I killed my first Raid bosses ever: Cairn and Xera. I absolutely fell in love with Xera's battle in terms of visuals. The scariest/hardest part for me during the battle was the gliding btw. Fell down 2-3 times. xD
