Did some thumbnailing for artwork for here, decided to give gradient map painting a go with this one! It was fun, and I have a lot to still understand with this, and BOY I forgot how fast I grow bored of rendering but!
Xutlātl, the intermediate god of Ascendance, Ambition, and Sought Power! He was originally a ordthay (human) who wanted to understand the way in which xeith ('demon') True Names work, and then attempted to give himself one - turning himself into this monstrous xeith-like beast. His body is extremely long and consists of lengths of 'torso' with arms - like a centipede. It winds through the submerged volcanic tunnels of the mountain he resides in, and he's not even sure where it ends! Just that somewhere in there, he's stuck, so he's not actually able to leave his mountain domain.
Xutlātl rules over his followers from the Ascendant's Spire as a king and as a god, and is one of the few deities that either cannot shift to a divine plane, or cannot pull his divine plane away from the material of Aanrah itself.
