Anyway, this is my headcanon for how berserkers get made. The Elders have their technicians drag muton girls at the dawn of puberty to get gene-modded and medically tortured as the Elders see fit. Echidna sees her technician for the first time in 35 years... and said technician hasn't realized yet that she [the technician] isn't leaving this encounter alive.
but mostly I wanted to contrast poor little 13 year-old Echi with her 48 year-old self. All the shit she's been through directly caused by being "blessed" by the Elders. This is probably the best I've ever been able to draw her face.
