As an Occasional Female “Gamer”...
...in my limited experience...
I love Halo. I always have. Am I good at it? By “good” which I mean, high shot accuracy, fluid movements, and precise view adjustment? Not at all. I run into objects, inanimates and Covenant alike, often, get stuck at the borders of game map, wander the terrain trying to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing, suicide by falling off cliff ledge,...etc. HOWEVER,regardless of my mediocre at best skills, Halo: Reach, is definitely one of my favorites.
My gaming experience goes back years, but always intermittently, and only  in an "inclined” state. I didn’t have my own consul to play on, so I never practiced or had access to the game. As such, whenever I did play, I feel like I was always easy pickings for the more serious players, but I always had fun. It’s like bowling for me - - I SUCK, but I enjoy playing. I remember going to parties in college where playing or watching other people play Halo was the “cool thing” to do; I never played in front of anyone because I know how bad I sucked, so I was always watching others. But whenever I got a private, or semi-private opportunity where I wouldn’t be laughed at for lack of skills, I’d play. I’d be just as terrible as I promised, but I played.
The consul I currently rock is the XBox 360 and I got it used for $100 at least two years ago. Not the most up to date system, but for the amount of time I spend playing, it suffices. I boast I grand total of 2 games in my collection. Literally, the only game I have to compare Reach to is DEAD or ALIVE 2 (great game) and Halo 4.
Of the 3, I can honestly say, I’m loving Halo: Reach over Halo 4. The story, so far, makes sense and is easy to follow. All my options are set to EASY and I suggest spending some time playing with your controller options- - I’m picky about mine. But I feel like a badass having spent several hours invested in saving/exploring this planet Reach. Stayed tuned-ish because I might just post about my progress and exploration of my gaming interest.
I’m such a nerd. I love it. {}Deace.
