i remember the first time i ever heard âi canât fight this feeling anymoreâ by reoÂ
i was in the car with xatus and it was my last night staying with them before i had to fly back home. it was cold and snow piled high on the sides of the roads, and we were just coming back from a quaint dinner for two at the local cracker barrel when the song came on
they heard the first two notes and immediately gasped, held out their arm towards me, and as soon as the words came, they started belting out the lyrics with so much feeling
i honestly didnât think i was with the same person anymore. they never broke face, they sang every word perfectly, the whole time just holding onto my arm, and looking at me expectantly. but i didnât know what to do.
i had never heard the song before. i didnât know the lyrics. it took all i had left in my brain to try and even figure out what exactly they were singing, and when i did finally find out, it was too late.Â
you know those dumb text posts we make here of the two dudes calling each other âbroâ and saying âyouâre my worldâ etc. i physically lived one of those moments. i was honestly expecting for xatus to just stop in the middle of the road, swing the doors open, and pull me in for a hug right there in the middle of a busy road in a small town. i was ready. i would have given you that hug bro.
