Spy and Xanvi! 1, 2, 10, 25, 33, 35, 48, 50
What does their bedroom look like?
Spy: Fairly sparse and tidyā and why wouldnāt it be? Any identifying material or personal information is either destroyed or kept secure in a lockbox elsewhere. He may, however, own a phonograph, a few French records, a few photos he took for fun, or a file or two laying about if theyāre from active assignments. Normally, he enjoys large windows in his rooms, but here at BLU there isnāt much choice in the matter.
Xanvi: Nobodies tend to have fairly spartan accommodations to begin with, but you donāt live in one place for five years without making it your own. Heās got a small bookshelf (still has some of Norās math books on there where they were left forgotten the day Nor left) as well a black, luxurious fur blanket.
Do they have any daily rituals?
Spy: Getting dressed is, alone, a very step by step ritual for him because he has so many interlocking layers of clothing. Also, he smokes like a chimney on a schedule like clockwork.
Xanvi: Besides visiting with the few remaining people heās close to, and work? Not really.
Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?
Spy: He is a little suspiciously anal about that suitā¦
Xanvi: Xanvi is basically the exact opposite of neurotic. Heās like a mountain; frigginā untouchable amounts of laid-back calm over here.
How do they see themselves 5 years from today?
Spy: Considerably richer, on a Mediterranean beach somewhere with a handsome man and/or woman and a plane ticket for a trip across the world tomorrow in his suit pocket. (P.S. in five years he is NOT there)
Xanvi: I honestly donāt know, lol. Time is really weird for Nobodies.
Concept of home and family?
Spy: France will always be his home, but in general /a/ home and the concept of family is nothing but restrictive for him. He prefers to stay on the move if at all possible. That doesnāt keep him from owning several nice apartments/houses in out-of-the-way areas of several European countries.
Xanvi: Heās loyal to a fault, both to his close friends as well as to the Organization, even though so much has changed and heās a little bit of an outsider since he stepped down from leadership. Someone more pragmatic might tell him he owes the Organization nothing anymore, but to him, theyāre still somehow his family.
What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
Spy: Trying to shape this ragtag team into something more socially acceptable. Itās a complete waste of time, but that doesnāt mean he doesnāt enjoy looking down his prodigious nose at everyoneās inferior qualities.
Xanvi: Art. He does nice work thatās very colorful and abstracted, often blurred images based on things he can remember from his previous life, but he only indulges in the hobby when the opportunity arises. Itās more something to fill the void than anything else.
How do they express love?
Spy: Never through words. Itās more likely to be shown through grand gestures or spending money. Not necessarily because heās shallow or greedy or only cares about material possessionsā but because itās something he unquestionably can do. For example, Iāve faffed about with both SpyEngie and SpySniper with friends and I think in both cases he ended up helping make sure a child/grandchild in the āfamilyā could go to college. Just donāt call it sentimental or heāll get all puffed up about it.
Xanvi: Again, with loyalty. Sticking by their side pretty much no matter what they say or do. Heās also a little bit protective but actively tries not to be possessively or oppressively so.
Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
Spy: Here on base, itās easy to be cocky. Spyās a very self-assured man. On missions, too, he looks very closely after his own hideā takes extreme measures to protect his identity for safety reasonsā but has no particular qualms about dying honorably with a gun in his hand if thatās what ends up happening. Sure, at the time heāll be mad enough to spit, indignant at whoever DARED to end him, regretful even, but not exactly afraid. I usually play around with him getting lung cancer when heās older, though, and in those casesā definitely. Heās afraid of that slow slip into helplessness, becoming trapped in his own body thatās betraying him bit by bit. Itās not death that really scares him. Itās the loss of everything he values, everything he isā his dignity and freedom and right to be arrogant.
Xanvi: Not in the slightest. And it isnāt because heās powerful enough to take a lot of punishment, or because heās a being that arguably would just be moving on from one form of nonexistence to another, more complete one. Itās because heās pretty much at peace with things, even if on a smaller scale there are still the everyday worries and concerns and boredoms and imperfections.
