A/N: Here's a sneak peak of a Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) x-reader I'm writing on Wattpad! I'll post updates on here, I'm still in the process of creating it.
Summary: You and Peter have been friends since you were toddlers, you knew everything about one another. Of course knowing everything about each other, your aware of your alter egos. You've always liked Peter right when you started high school. People assumed that you and him were together, but you always denied it. You usually are the one patching up Peter's wounds, now it was his turn to return the favor.

Peter Parker x-reader:
The cool wind brushed against me as I sat on the fire escape of my townhome. My enhanced hearing allowed me to hear police or ambulance sirens going off the in the distance including the booming sound of barking. Sage - my superhero alias - would hopefully make an appearance tonight, probably to stop a bank robbery or someone trying to rob an innocent New Yorker.
I pulled my hair away from my flushed face as if that could help me hear my surroundings better. A static sparked from my cell phone. I picked the phone up, holding up to my ear. "We've got 10-56 on Smokey Avenue right on the corner. Two men, tall stature, not sure what their intentions are," the woman said.
A smirk rose on my face at the sound of the officer's voice. I didn't hesitate to hop down from the fire escape, using my abilities to glide through the crisp air of New York city. The sight of Smokey Avenue came into view. My feet landed softly behind the two burly men.
They stuffed their black duffle bags from the machines aligning the sides of the room. The two criminals wore black masks. I cleared my throat to gain their attention. "Not sure if stealing is a good thing to add to your reputation," I spoke with my hands resting on my hips.
Each of them jerked their heads to me. With the white light casting a shadow on each of their faces. I could hear the sound of sirens commence, getting closer towards Smokey Avenue. I wiggled my fingers in a waving motion. The man with a black and brown leather jacket yanked out the gun from his pocket.
Luckily, I ducked just before the bullet brushed against my shoulder; ripping the thin hem of my sleeve. I hissed in pain and stepped to the left. He swung his arm, hitting my cheek. I fell to the ground with a grunt. Using my telekinetic powers, I was able to pull the men away from the machines.
The green orb was transformed into a thick sage green rope. It wrapped around the men, preventing them from escaping through the double doors. I knelt in front of the two of them with a victorious smile sitting on my face.
"Didn't your mothers tell you not to shoot someone?"
I stood up from the tiled flooring of the bank just as I heard the police sirens getting closer. I was able to escape through the back door of the bank. The wind continued to hit my bare skin, cooling me down from the fight. Instead of going to my house, I flew down to my best friend's townhome which was on the same street as mine.
Peter was sitting at the desk with his chin resting on the palm of his hand. His laptop was sitting in front of him, displaying our Chemistry assignment. I reached up and knocked on the window with my free hand that wasn't covering the bullet graze. My best friend since diapers trailed his focus away from his laptop
His smile dropped at the sight of the bruise underneath my eye including my hand on my left shoulder. Peter slid open his bedroom window, helping me inside. "Greetings, spider-boy," I cheered. Peter chuckled and brought me over to the bathroom which was attached to his bedroom. He searched for the first-aid kit.
"Right cabinet, towards the back," I said.
Peter gave me a thumbs up and finally found the red and white first-aid kit. He stood beside me as I sat on the counter, my legs swinging back and forth. Instead of asking me what happened, all he did was reassure me about the cuts and bruises.
I tried pulling down the sleeve of my suit but was stopped by Peter setting his hand on mine. He gave me a pointed look and waved my hand away. Peter ignored the glare I sent him. He pulled the zipper down. I shivered at the feeling of his fingers brushing against my skin.
A comfortable silence settled between the two of us as Peter tended to the graze. It didn't appear to be fatal. "How deep is it?" I inquired, stealing a look at my friend's intense expression. He dabbed the dried blood away to clean it up. "You should be fine, just a graze," he replied.
He reached into the kit to pull out the needle and medical thread, a procedure that my mother taught us. I cursed in pain when he began stitching the wound. My hand grasped Peter's opposite hand as I breathed deeply. He looked up at me with a worried expression. I reassured my friend and motioned for Peter to continue.
My best friend finished up stitching the bullet graze then set a white bandage on top of it. He pulled my suit's sleeve up, fixing the back zipper. "Appreciate it, Pete," I thanked. "Just returning the favor," he responded. Peter wrapped an arm around my shoulders and helped me off the counter. He led me over to his bed, letting me sit on the edge.
Peter looked through the drawers of his dresser to try and find some clothes for me to change into. I leaned against the wall behind his bed, stretching my legs out. When Peter and I were in gym class Missy had gone up to me, asking if Peter and I were together, of course I said no.
"You didn't happen to hear what Missy was saying? At the gym," I questioned.
He looked up from the dresser when he found the t-shirt and shorts. Peter shook his head in response then sat down on the leather swivel chair. I nodded my head as he handed me the clothes I had once left.
"Okay, okay. Good," I said. Peter played with a pencil beside him, taking off the pink eraser's crumbs. "Was-was I supposed to?" he asked.
"I mean, no, it's just. What she said was kinda weird," I replied, shrugging. Peter leaned back in his chair with furrowed brows. The back of his chair hit the edge of the organized and clean desk. "What, kinda weird?" Peter asked. I hit my lip and shrugged again while my eyes were fixated on the hardwood flooring of the bedroom.
Funny little lines and shapes were on the middle of the floor boards, different shades of browns on scattered about them as well. I swung my feet back and forth with them brushing up against the rug that a was underneath Peter's bed.
"Oh, you know, just questioning if we were together," I said, chuckling nervously.
Peter set the short yellow pencil into the mason jar beside his computer. "That is weird," he said, putting emphasis on the word 'is'.. "Yeah, you could say that," I replied. An uncomfortable silence grew between the two of us with him asking what I said, and me responding with 'I told her no'.
He said 'okay' as a response and grew quiet yet again, his cheeks turning a dark shade of pink. Peter closed his laptop, sliding to the back and plugged it into it's charger. I glanced down at the clothes neatly folded in my lap, consisting of a blue NY Mets t-shirt and a pair of grey basketball shorts.
I usually left a pair of clothes over at Peter's just in case I needed to stay over for things like this. "I should probably get changed," I spoke as I carefully stood up from my friend's messy comfortable bed. Peter looked up from his desk, seeing me stumbling over to the bathroom door.
"Do you need help?" he asked, stopping me from approaching his bathroom.
"What?"
"Getting dressed. Cause of your stitches," Peter pointed to my left shoulder. My mouth curled into the shape of an 'o'. He insisted on helping, referring to the fact that we've known each other since we were in diapers; and that there wasn't anything else that we haven't seen.
He took ahold of the blue baseball shirt and stepped over to me. I set my messy hair to the side, allowing him access to the zipper on the upper part of my suit. The suit fell to my knees. He helped me with the t-shirt. "I think I should be fine for now," I claimed. "Yeah, yeah. You do that," he said, waltzing over to the desk chair.
I pressed my lips into a thin line and quickly made my way over to the bathroom. It took me a bit to put the shorts on, but soon reached success. When I walked out of my friend's bathroom, Peter was now sitting back at his desk. "Got you a bag to put your suit in," he directed to a brown grocery bag on his bed.
I thanked him and stuffed my suit into the plastic bag. The door to his bedroom suddenly opened up, revealing Uncle Ben. Me and Peter turned to the source of the sound. "Hey, Peter, dinner's re-" Uncle Ben stopped himself, opening the door. I finished putting my green and black suit into the bag and looked up at the man.
"Oh, Y/N. I didn't know you were here," Ben said, "Staying for dinner?" I opened my mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Peter. "Yes, she is," he cut me off.
Uncle Ben pointed to the bruise underneath my right eye. Peter and I exchanged a look, he motioned for me to think of something convincing. "Oh! Got hit in the head by a textbook. You know how big those Literature textbooks are," I lied, terribly.
Ben looked at me questionably then dropped the subject. He told the two of us that dinner will be ready soon. Mr. Parker added that he and May had made an extra plate for me, just like they always did.
Peter removed his focus from the door and back to me. His brows raised when he thought about my response to his uncle's question. "Got hit by a textbook?" he repeated, "Thought you were good at lying." I rolled my eyes and ran my hands through my hair.
"Oh shut up, spider-boy," I remarked, pushing passed him to go downstairs.

Dick Grayson x-reader
I sat at the table of our townhome in a small neighborhood located in Gotham. The sound of the news filled the air around me, I looked up from my book and watched the tv that sat in the living room. Sierra sat on the leather couch as she typed on her computer while watching the daily news. They broadcasted this weeks weather. Some days were cloudy, others were bright and sunny. I stood up from the wooden chair and walked over to the kitchen, grabbing the two of us a cup of coffee. “Heard from your mom lately?” Sierra asked, looking up from her computer.
I poured the vanilla flavored creamer into each of the cups of coffee. My friend took one of the mugs for me as she wrapped her hands around the yellow mug. I sighed, shaking my head as I sat back down. “She’s been busy with my father,” I answered. “How’s he doing by the way?” Sierra asked. “Better, the accident has both of them really shaken up,” I responded. A couple weeks ago - prior to this day - my parents were depositing a check when at the bank when it was robbed. The two men had armed guns on them, threatening to kill anyone that stood up to them. However, I guess moving to a different position was an excuse to shoot.
Luckily for my fathers built figure, the bullet didn’t pierce his skin to kill him instantly. My mom has been helping with his therapy exercises to get rid of the pain. My roommate nodded as I answered her question. She took a sip of her coffee then set it down on the table. “And your mom?” Sierra questioned, leaning back. Maximus hopped up onto the couch and sat in the middle of the two of us. Sierra smiled and patted the dogs fluffy head.
“Same thing, I guess we’re all pretty shocked,” I replied, “I’m just glad nobody got too hurt.” Sierra leaned over to the table and held her coffee. She took out her purse from beside her, pulling out a small bottle of whiskey. “It’s 10:00 in the morning,” I said and chuckled. She shrugged her shoulders and poured some of the alcohol in her coffee. I shook my head, taking a sip of my coffee without the whiskey. The two of us glanced at the tv and saw the news station broadcasting a new park that was being placed at the middle of Gotham city.
Maximus perked up, barking at the screen. Sierra and I looked to the golden doodle and laughed at his sudden happy demeanor. My roommate gulped down the last bit of her coffee and stood up from the leather cough. “We’ll have to take Maximus sometime,” Sierra said, patting me on the shoulder. I smiled and draped a blanket over my bare legs. She walked over to the kitchen, turning on the lights. Sierra set her dirty mug into the sink then grabbed some soap to clean it free of whiskey and coffee.
“You working today?” she asked, setting the mug into the sink. I took a sip of my drink once more before shaking my head in response to her question. “I got Winston to cover the café today,” I responded. She nodded and rested the towel on top of the handle of the dishwasher. I felt Maximus’ head rest on my knee, looking up at me. I smiled at his cute face and untangled his matted tan fur with my fingers. Our canine friend licked my palm as I pet his head, closing his golden brown eyes.
I looked to the right and saw the sun peeking through the curtains that covered the windows. A little table rested in the middle of the two windows, a small lamp was placed on it along with a picture of Sierra and I with our parents. Sierra and I had met in college and we’ve been friends ever since. I felt my phone vibrating from my back pocket. Maximus sat up from the couch, turning his head to the noise from my shorts.
I grabbed my phone and looked at the number. Our dog hopped down from the couch at the sound of Sierra pulling out his food bowl. I continued to stare at the unknown number that flashed on my screen, the familiar green and red buttons sat at the bottom of the home screen. I saw my baffled expression in the reflection of the flashing screen.
I looked up at my friend with a look of confusion. She set Maximus’ bowl beside the trashcan, wiping the rim free of crumbs. Sierra stood up and saw my expression. “What is it?” she inquired, setting her hands on her hips. I took off the blanket and walked over to her. Sierra took the phone from me, scanning over the number. “I don’t recognize it,” she said, “Could it be Winston?” I slouched my shoulders, pursing my lips. “If he got a new phone, probably,” I said and grabbed the phone from her.
“Answer it,” she said, pointing my phone. I glanced at the iPhone then to Sierra. I sighed and pressed the green button. I slowly raised it up to ear, waiting for the person to say something.
“Hello?” I inquired.
“Y/N?” a males voice sounded from the cellphone, I didn’t recognize it. Sierra raised her brows and waved me to lower the phone. She grabbed the cell from me, setting it on the marble counter. Sierra pressed the volume button to signal that this stranger was on speaker. “Who is this?” I asked, crossing my arms. I heard Maximus stop eating and look up at Sierra and I. He walked over to my roommate and nuzzled his head underneath her hand, she lightly pushed him away and pointed towards his kibble. He obeyed and sat down behind the two of us.
“Do you mind answering the door?” the males voice wondered, making Sierra and I even more distressed. Sierra quickly picked up the phone and hung up. She handed it back to me and I slipped it into my back pocket. I rushed over to the door, about to open it. “Have you not seen any horror movie?” Sierra retorted as she grabbed my wrist to pull me back. "I’ll be fine,” I said. I looked at the door then to Sierra, I caught glimpse of the knives resting on the counter beside the stove.
She saw my gaze, Sierra rushed over and grabbed a knife from the butcher block. My roommate handed me the knife and gestured towards the door. I stood in front of the brown, wooden door a little hesitant to open it. I wrapped my hand around the knob and slowly opened it up, still gripping the knife with my other palm. A pair of brown shoes stood in front of me, I glued my feet to the hard wood floor.
I brought my gaze up to the male’s face, my expression changed immediately. My old friend looked up from the ground and stared into my Y/E/C eyes (GIF Above). “Dick?” I said, my brows furrowing. “Hey,” he responded as he sighed. I looked to his right and saw a short teen girl standing beside Dick. I furrowed my brows, looking at her then to my past crush. “Can we talk?” he asked. Sierra appeared by my side with a look of concern.
I felt her hand rest on my arm, slightly pulling me back. I grabbed her wrist lightly and lowered it. “It’s alright,” I reassured, “He’s-they’re harmless.” I saw the black haired girl slightly smile, looking up from the floor.
______
(Time Skip: Three Hours later)
Rachel sat at the kitchen table, drinking a cup of coffee while Sierra prepared dinner. Maximus sat at Rachels feet and looked up at her with a large smile as his tongue hung out. Dick sat beside me on the couch, taking a sip of a cold glass of water. “What’s wrong?” I asked, setting a hand on top of his. “Nothing is wrong,” Dick replied. “I don’t believe you,” I said and raised an eyebrow. There was a short pause between the two of us before he told me everything about his job back in Detroit, his secret identity, and Rachel’s abilities. I gave him a sympathetic smile, sighing. “Look, I realize that I haven’t been in touch for the past....” I trailed.
“Five years,” Dick continued.
“Has it really been five years?” I said in complete and udder shock. He slowly nodded his head, setting the glass onto the table. “Wow,” I said and sighed. “Dick, I’m so sorry,” I added, “I knew I should’ve been more.....open.” Dick nodded as I spoke with an apologetic tone. “I forgive you,” he said, “I know this isn’t really the type of reunion you hoped for.” I smiled softly.
The feelings for my past best friend resurfaced, I remembered falling for him every single day throughout high school. However, I never really confessed my true feelings in fear that he would see me different. “Dinner’s ready!” Sierra called. Dick and I got up from the couch, walking over to the table. My roommate set a big salad on the table along with two plates of pasta. Dinner was quiet between the four of us. My roommate finally broke the long pause of silence. “So, Dick. How was Y/N in high school?” Sierra questioned, taking a bite of her salad.
I whipped my head towards her as I glared daggers at my auburn haired friend. Dick chuckled and took a sip of his beer. “Definitely not as confident as she is now,” he said. I glanced at Dick and rolled my eyes. “That is not true,” I disagreed, shaking my head. “Oh, I think it is,” he corrected, smirking. I chuckled and sipped my ice water with a lemon at the rim of the glass. Rachel looked between Dick and I, grinning to herself. “Did you two date?” she asked. Which caused my best friend and I to look up from our plates of salad and lasagna.
“N-No,” I said, stuttering. I grabbed my napkin and swallowed my food. “We went to prom together, as friends, but that was it,” I continued, setting my napkin down on my lap. At the corner of my eye, I noticed Dick had raised his eyebrows. “I didn’t think of it as ‘friends’,” he claimed, putting more thought into the word ‘friends’.
I felt the apples of my cheeks start to blush uncontrollably. Sierra looked between Dick and I as I tried to avoid direct eye contact with my past crush. My roommate sighed and set her fork down. “Alright, I am full. Y/N, why don’t you show Rachel where she’ll be sleeping for the night while Dick helps me clean up?” she offered, breaking the awkward conversation. "Okay,” I said and sighed. I took the napkin off of my lap and folded it neatly, resting it beside my dirtied plate.
Rachel took the hint and stood up from the table, setting her napkin on top of her plate. I put a hand on her shoulder and led her down the hallway.
____________
Rachel sat on the bed, looking down at a book I had handed her. I looked through my closet as I searched for some clothes that the girl could borrow. I found a pair of black leggings, a purple sweatshirt, and a grey t-shirt from my old high school. “Will these do?” I asked, setting the clothes down. She nodded and took the folded clothes. “I’m sorry if I brought up an awkward subject at dinner,” she said, getting up from the bed.
I smiled at her and closed my closet doors. I walked over to my bedside table, turning on the small lamp. She watched me with her eyes as I walked around. Rachel changed her position and faced me, fiddling with the drawstrings of the purple sweatshirt. I sighed and set my hands on my hips.
“It’s alright,” I said, “It needed to be talked about, even though it’s been five years.” She let out a small chuckle, looking down at the sweatshirt. I grabbed an extra hairbrush and walked over to her. She took the brush from me and ran it through her hair. I rummaged through one of the drawers of my dresser and soon found some socks that she could wear. I set then beside her as I took out two towels from the trunk at the foot of my bed.
A small knock on the frame of the door was heard, the girl and I looked up from the bed. Dick stood there wearing a fresh pair of clothes, which were probably Sierra’s boyfriend’s. “Can I talk to Y/N?” Dick asked. Rachel slowly nodded her head and arose from the bed, walking towards the opened door to my bedroom. “The bathroom’s down the hall to the right,” I informed. She nodded and followed my directions, leaving Dick and I to talk.
I walked over to my desk and blew out the lavender candle. I grabbed a wet-wipe from my drawer, cleaning the dresser so there was no dust and grime. I threw the cloth into the trashcan beside my bedside table. I sighed and leaned against the edge of my dresser.
“About what happened back there....” I trailed, scratching the back of my neck. Without hesitation, Dick walked over to me and crashed his lips onto mine. I’ve been wanting to kiss him ever since the two of us met freshmen year of high school.
We leaned back, looking into each others eyes. A small smile crept on his face and his eyes lit up with glee. “I’ve been waiting to do that for so long,” Dick said. “Wh-wait...” I said, chuckling. “I’d say I didn’t have the guts, but....” he struggled to find the right words. The two of us laughed, he shook his head. I rested my forehead against his, still smiling my ass off. I guess this wasn’t the type of reunion we were expecting.

I heard the sounds of ‘awes’ outside my apartment window, people laughed with their significant others. I groaned in disgust and covered my head with my pillow. Roxie sat on her bed, flipping through a Cosmopolitan magazine. “According to Cosmopolitan your ideal match is someone who is hot but smart,” Roxie said, earning a sarcastic laugh from her. My corgi hopped up on my bed as he heard me wake up. AJ nuzzled his head underneath the pillow, moving it away from my face. I took it from him and set it behind me. AJ plopped himself beside me as I reached for my phone. “BTW, that Randall dude called you three times,” Roxie informed, not looking up from her magazine.
Sure enough, my roommate was correct. I clicked on the voicemails and chuckled from his corny jokes he was phrasing. I shook my head and went to his contact. “Someone’s smiling,” Roxie commented, setting her magazine on top of her computer. “Shut up,” I said and texted Randall.
Randall: Where are you? We were supposed to meet at the bar!
Me: Oh, shit! I’ll be there soon!
I put my phone into the charger and rushed over to my closet. Roxie followed me with her eyes, confused. “What’s the matter now?” She asked with a hint of annoyance. I grabbed a black jean skirt along with a white top. I slipped on a pair of black converse. Before I forgot, I took out my pocket book and stuffed my apartment and car keys, my wallet, and phone in. “I’ll see you later,” I said, “I’m meeting Randall at the bar.” Roxie passed me cardigan just incase I got cold. “Don’t forget to feed AJ!” I yelled before I left the apartment.
“Alrighty then! Have fun!” Roxie replied.
I walked down the stairs, slightly recoiling from the lovers on either side of me. I unlocked my car and made my way towards The Blade and Chalice. Randall stood outside of the bar, wearing his grey sweatshirt, looking around. I opened my car door with my purse in hand. Randall looked up, breaking into smile at the sight of me. I locked my car and walked towards him. “Shall we,” he said, waving towards the door. “We shall,” I replied and chuckled. He opened the door for me as we walked into the bar. We sat down at one of the tables in the middle of The Blade and Chalice. Couples sat on either side of us, talking amongst themselves.
‘Hold up,’ I thought, ‘Is this what I think it is? Did he take me out on a date?’ Randall glanced down at his phone then looked back at the bar. “I’ll go get us some drinks,” He said, getting up from the table. I nodded and watched him walk over to order two drinks. I quickly pulled out my phone and texted Roxie.
Me: I think Randall’s taking me out on a date!
Roxie: Hahaha, that’s hilarious!
Me: Roxie!
Roxie: I’m sure its fine, you like him so that’s all that matters.
I looked up and saw him walking back over to me. I slipped my phone back into my purse. I set a coaster underneath the glass before starting a conversation. “How’s your Sunday going?” I asked. Randall shrugged, taking a sip of his drink. “It’s going alright. You know Jack, right?” he replied. I nodded at his response. I fiddled with the hem of my skirt in a nervous manner, luckily Randall didn’t see my nervous motion. “Well,” Randall chuckled, “he kept forcing me to ask this girl out that I’ve been crushing on.”
I raised my eyebrows at his continuation, feeling my heart slightly sink. I took a sip of my beer and wiped my mouth with my napkin. “And who is this lucky lady?” I asked, trying to bury my feelings. Randall sighed, I could see a light pink color appear on his cheeks. “She’s great,” he said, “I’m in a couple of her classes, I’ve known her for awhile now.” I could sense the jealousy at the pit of my stomach, my hands beginning to sweat with anticipation. ‘Maybe this isn’t a date,’ I thought to myself.
I wiped my palms on my cardigan and took large sip of my beer. I set the glass down on the carboard coaster, finishing the glass. Randall rose his eyebrows at the empty glass of beer. “You finished that already?” he asked, shocked. “Yeah,” I gulped, “I was thirsty.” I saw a smirk appear on my crushes face. I grabbed my glass and stood up from the table. “I’ll be right back,” I said and stepped over to the bar. I sat down, waiting for Noah. He finished up with another customer. Noah wiped his hands on a paper towel and walked over to me. “Hey Y/N,” he greeted, throwing the cloth into the trash can.
“Another beer please,” I said as I pushed the glass towards him. He gave me a thumbs up and poured some more in. Noah set it down, giving me a worried expression. “Everything alright?” he asked. “Um,” I said and turned around. Randall gave me a smile then a wink. I jerked my head back to look at Noah. “I’ll take that as a no,” said Noah. “I really like him, but he’s talking about this girl and a little part of me is jealous,” I explained, Noah nodded to my explanation.
“Girl, have you ever thought that it might be you?” Noah suggested with raised eyebrows. I scoffed at my friends statement, shaking my head in disagreement. “Very funny Noah,” I grabbed the glass, “I’ll talk to you later.” I strolled back over to Randall and set the my glass down. “So....” I trailed, “Tell me more about this girl?” He nodded and took a sip of his drink. “Well she’s got this personality that just washes all of your worries away. She uh...” he stopped, seeing my take a large sip of my drink.
Randall set a hand on top of mine with a look of concern. “Y/N, you alright?” he asked, taking the glass from me. “Pft, of course I am,” I said, “Just um, really thirsty today.” He didn’t seem to believe me, without hesitation he poured my drink into his and took the glass from me. Randall stood up from the table and came back with a glass of water. “There you go, that’s better to chug then some beer,” He said, sitting back down. I could hear an ‘alarm’ blaring inside my head, almost as if all of my backup plans were being stolen.
“Is there by any chance this dream girl of yours me?” I inquired, immediately regretting my question. There was a long silence between the two of us. I closed my eyes, cursing underneath my breath. I grabbed my purse and walked out of the door. I reached for my keys, but soon realized I must’ve left them at the table. “Forgetting these?” I heard from behind me. I slowly turned around, finding Randall holding my car keys. I grabbed the keys from him and held them in my sweaty hand.
“About what happened back there-” Randall started.
“I like you!” I interrupted, then covered my mouth in surprise. Randall showed no expression of surprise. He smirked and chuckled, resting his arms on his hips. “Took you long enough,” Randall said. “Huh?” I said, furrowing my eyebrows. “I’ve been trying to get that out of you for about a year now!” Randall exclaimed, laughing. “I don’t know how to reply to that,” I mumbled and glanced down at the ground. Without a thought, Randall rested his hands on either side of my face and kissed me. I felt my surroundings start to melt away from the feeling of his lips on mine.

Friday Morning: 9:00 am
The conversations between customers filled the café where I worked. The strong smell of the coffee and baked goods flew around the room, creating a sweet scent. I rolled up the sleeves of my red sweater as I put the biscuits in the oven. My boss -Michael- walked through the back door of the restaurant. “Morning, Y/N,” he said. I closed the oven, waving to him. He took his apron off of the hook and tied it around his waist. “How’s today?” Michael asked. I shrugged and handed a customer their coffee. “Same old, same old,” I replied, earning a small smile from him. I grabbed a tray and set a cup of coffee, tea, and two chocolate croissants. Michael set table three cards on top of the tray. I gave him a thankful smile before walking over to the table.
An older couple sat at the back of the room, they looked up from their books and smiled. Giana and Jared have been coming to this café since they were students at Belgrave, they come here every year for their anniversary. “Here is your tea,” I said, setting it in front of Giana. “And your coffee sir,” I said and put it beside Jared’s book. I set the plate of baked goods down at the middle of their table. “Thank you, Y/N,” Giana said, taking a sip of her tea. “Oh! and Happy Anniversary,” I said, clasping my hands. The couple looked up at me, wearing toothy grins. I set down the checkbook and walked over to the counter.
I glanced at the couple and saw Jared holding his wife’s hand, I wished for a relationship like that with Hamish. For over a year now, Hamish and I had been secretly dating. Lilith was the only person that knew, so far she hasn’t told anyone. Recently my boyfriend had been acting different, almost like he was hiding something rather then being in the Knights and The Order. After about eight hours of working, it was time for me to end my shift. I grabbed my backpack from the cubby near the kitchen. I took off my apron and set it on the rack. “See you tomorrow Michael,” I said. He looked up from the table and waved me goodbye.
I opened the front door of the café, feeling the cold night air on my arms. I rubbed the sides of them as I walked over to my white car. I grabbed my keys, unlocking my car. I sighed as the warm air conditioning warmed me up. After settling into my car I made my way to the den where I usually met Hamish and the others.

(Time Skip: Two weeks, Friday afternoon - 3:00 pm)
Usually at the end of the week, we close early to have a fresh start the next day. I sprayed one of the wooden tables with a disinfectant as the customer's leave the café. I coughed from the strong smell of bleach from the cleaning spray. I wiped the table down with a clean towel then threw it into the trashcan. Michael flipped through his phone as he changed the music on the speakers. “You’re free to go, Y/N/N,” Michael said, putting his phone into the charger. I gave him a thumbs up and grabbed my backpack, doing my usual routine after my shift ends.
The thought of Hamish’s secretive manners had been bothering me all day and week. At first I pushed it aside, not really paying attention to it. Lilith had even taken notice of it. I sat on my bed just doing some Chemistry homework. A knock sounded from my bedroom door, breaking me from my concentration. “Come in!” I said. Lilith slowly opened the door with a blank expression. She looked as if she had seen a ghost.
I glanced at my sister, confused. Lilith sighed and closed the door behind her before turning back to me. “Everything alright?” I questioned, closing my Chemistry book. There was a short pause between the two of us. “Lil,” I said, standing up from my bed. “I’m so sorry,” Lilith said. I furrowed my brows at my sisters apology. “Sorry about what?” I inquired. She sighed and sat down on the chair at my desk. “Hamish’s cheating on you with Vera,” Lilith said, breaking the silence once more. I shook my head in disbelief. “No, no you’re wrong,” I said, “How can he? We’ve been keeping this a relationship secret for a year!”
Lilith gave me a sympathetic smile and stood up from the chair. Multiple questions were flying throughout my head, trying to understand what my sister had just said. “How do you know?” I asked. “I overheard him and Vera talking in the temple,” Lilith said.
“Well how does that relate to him sleeping with her?” I questioned, fiddling with my fingers. “They were talking about their last ‘sexual encounter’,” Lilith replied. I felt my knees buckle, causing me to fall onto my bed in a sitting position. I stared at the ground with my mouth agape. Lilith stood there not knowing what to do.
There was a silent gap between the two of us again. The hum of my music from my computer was all we heard as we sat there. I picked up my phone and slipped it into my back pocket. Standing up from the bed, I put on my jacket before leaving my room. Lilith ran down the stairs after me. “Y/N/N!” Lilith yelled. I tore open the front door and saw Hamish sitting out on the porch, sipping on a margarita. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing!” I exclaimed, standing in front of Hamish.
He furrowed his eyebrows and looked down at his drink. Lilith, Randall and Jack rushed outside, standing behind me. I let my silver eyes shine at Hamish, my claws retracting from my fingers. Lilith set her hands on my shoulders and pulled me back. “What’s going on?” Jack asked. “This little bitch has been sleeping around with Vera!” I yelled, pointing to my ‘boyfriend’. Hamish’s eyes widened with surprise, he set his drink on the table beside. My sister slowly let go of my shoulders. “They’re dating, or were dating,” Lilith said as she crossed her arms. “Can you guys give Ham-bitch and I a moment?” I asked, turning around to look at the three of them.
They nodded their heads and quickly left Hamish and I alone. I stepped away from him with my hands on my hips, letting a tear slide down the side of my face. “Since when is it okay to sleep with someone else, who isn’t your fucking girlfriend?” I said, crossing my arms. Hamish sighed and pinched the area between his brows.
“I’m sorry,” was all he said. “You’re what?” I retorted, “That’s all you have to say?”
My ‘boyfriend’ lowered his head and shook it, scratching the back of his neck. He didn’t say a single word. Hamish kept his mouth in a thin line, preventing himself from speaking. “You’re not even going to say anything?” I said, “Not even an explanation?” Hamish looked up at me with tears sliding down his face, his hands in his khaki pockets. “I’m sorry, I really am,” Hamish said, “I know I shouldn’t have slept with Vera.”
“Oh my god,” I mumbled, running my hands through my hair. Hamish looked at the left as he tried to avoid eye contact with me. “I don’t want to break up with you,” I said. “You won’t have to,” Hamish said, pulling his hand out of his pocket. I furrowed my brows and looked at him then his hand. He was holding a small red velvet bag. Gold rope tassels tied the bag at the top. Hamish pulled the rope loose and put his hand into the bag. Next thing I know, white powder was being blown in my face.

(Time Skip: The next day-Saturday)
I woke up on the couch in the living room of the den, a thick blanket was placed over my legs along with a pillow resting underneath my head. I slowly opened my eyes and squinted them from the bright light above me. The aroma of pine brimmed the air around me. I looked to my right and saw my sister sitting on the chair across from me, Hamish stood behind the bar. “You alright?” Hamish asked. I looked up at him, nodding my head. “What happened?” I inquired, sitting up from the couch.
“When you were coming back from the café, an Order member attacked you,” Hamish said, walking away from the bar. I looked at him very confused. I had no recognition of this, but I knew I needed to trust my friends and my own sister. “Who was it?” I asked. “Some guy from Kansas,” Lilith said, “He was a friend of Vera, I guess he knew you were a Werewolf.” I nodded to her explanation. “But everything’s okay, it’s been taken care of,” Hamish said. He walked over to the couch and handed me a cup of tea.
I took it willingly, sipping the herbal flavored drink. I looked up at Hamish and thanked him. Something felt different, I guess it was because I was attacked. I’m just happy that I’m safe.

I walked around camp as I checked to see if anyone needed help with their jobs. Miller and the others stood at their posts, watching for any sign of the enemy. We had set up a couple of traps in front of the gate that hopefully would keep the Grounders away from camp. The wind whistled as it hit the trees surrounding camp, I could see grey clouds slowly blocking the golden sun. I’m hoping it wasn’t overcast all day.
Cassy and Mika tried to lift up the makeshift tables on their own. I rushed over to them, grabbing one of the sides. I helped them set the wooden table next to one of the tents. “Thanks Y/N,” Cassy said, looking up at me. “No problem,” I said, “Why don’t you two take a break, you deserve it.” I ruffled Cassy’s curly hair, she scowled at me. Mika grabbed her hand and ushered her to follow.
The sound of leaves crunching erupted from behind me. Bellamy soon appeared by my side. “How we looking?” he asked. “Well,” I sighed, “Nobody’s really seen any of the Grounders, we must’ve scared them off.” Bellamy chuckled softly and looked towards the entrance of the gate.
“I’m thinking of sending some hunting parties out, were almost out of food,” he said, uncrossing his arms. I nodded along and motioned for everyone to gather around. Clarke walked out of the drop ship with Mika and Cassy beside her. “Listen up!” Bellamy exclaimed, “Were running out of food which is not a good thing.”
Bellamy glanced at me, motioning me to speak. “We’ll be splitting you up in to three groups, you know the rest,” I said, “Each person takes one spear, only two leaders of the group should take a gun.” Bellamy looked at me and nodded along. “Guns are for Grounders not for food, look out for traps. The Grounders are smart, but we’re smarter.” The delinquents nodded their heads in agreements.
“The rest of you stay here, we can't risk losing anyone else,” I added, earning another round of agreeing statements. “The parties leave in ten,” Bellamy said, looking down at my watch.
Octavia met me at the table filled with different types of gear. She looked up at me and smiled, handing me a spear from the ground. O glanced back at Bellamy who began splitting everyone up. I grabbed a gun and slipped it into its holster, I took out a canteen just in case. “Bellamy seemed to really trust you back there,” Octavia said, smirking. “Isn’t he always like that?” I said, crossing my arms. She laughed and shook her head.
“Y/N/N!” Cassy yelled, running towards me with open arms. I knelt down to her eye level as she wrapped her arms around me. “Please be careful,” she said, voice muffled. I rubbed her back in a soothing motion, I let go and rested my hands on her shoulders. “I’ll be fine,” I said, “You don’t have to worry about me.” She slowly nodded, I stood up and looked at Octavia.
“Watch her like a hawk,” I said, referring to my younger sister. O nodded and glanced at Cassy. “You don’t have to worry about that,” Octavia said, handing me a dagger. I looked back to see if my hunting partner was ready.
Reynolds stood at the front of the gate with the rest of the group, I turned back to Cassy and Octavia. My sister wrapped her arms around me once more. “I’ll be fine,” I said, chuckling. I glanced at Octavia for a little help. Octavia reached forward and grabbed Cassy’s hand. Before I left with the rest of the group, Bellamy called my name. “Can’t forget this,” he said, holding up a map.
“Right.”
He passed me the piece of paper, I handed it to Reynolds since he was our tracker. “Be careful,” Bellamy said, “Please.” I saw his face softened as I looked back at him. I gave him a small nod and followed Reynolds out of the gate. Reynolds walked ahead of the group as I walked in the back, making sure everything was clear. I saw two of the boys start to goof around.
“Max, Thomas,” I said, “Keep it together, stay focused.” They whipped their heads to me and said their apologies. I laughed, shaking my head at their immature brains. Reynolds looked up at the sky and noticed the clouds starting to spread across the sky faster and faster.
“Everything okay, Reynolds?” I asked, rushing towards him. “It looks like we’re gonna get some rain,” he replied. I nodded, we stopped walking and looked back at the two boys. “Get your ponchos out, we’re low on food so we need all the chances we can get,” I said.
“But it’s going to rain!” Max whined. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Does it look like we give a fuck?” I retorted, “We need the food. It’s just some rain, you’re not gonna melt.” Max and Thomas rolled their eyes and took out their jackets. Reynolds and I exchanged a look of annoyance from the two boys.
“If there’s thunder, we should probably consider going back,” said Reynolds. I shook my head in disagreement. “You heard me right?” I countered, “Reynolds, we need this food. We don’t have enough for seventy people.” He nodded his head, looking ahead of the four of us. I looked down at my watch and saw that we had been walking for about an hour.
Max and Thomas continued to whine at the amount of walking we had done. ‘I can’t believe I got stuck with these two,’ I thought, rolling my eyes in the back of my head. I felt a group of raindrops hit my face, making me flinch slightly.
Max and Thomas grunted in frustration. I turned my head slightly, feeling as if someone was watching us. I furrowed my eyebrows at the uncomfortable feeling. “You alright?” Reynolds asked, setting a hand on my shoulder.
“Get your gun out,” I ordered, he slowly nodded at my demand. I saw Max and Thomas reach for their spears. “Slowly,” Reynolds muttered, “We don’t want to cause a scene.” At the corner of my eye I saw a figure hiding behind a large oak tree. “Back to back, now,” I ordered, softly. The group obeyed my demand, getting into position. Reynolds and I pointed our gun in front of us, changing the direction every time we heard a noise.
Max screamed as his feet were swept from underneath him, Thomas ran to his friends side but was shot in the back of the head with an arrow. “Fuck,” I muttered, “Reynolds! Back to back, now!” I grabbed Max’s spear, launching it at one of the Grounders. The spear landed in the enemies chest, he screamed in agony as he fell to the floor.
Two Grounders hopped out of trees with swords strapped to their sides. I took my gun out, aiming at the Grounder. He grabbed my wrist, bending it back. My gun flew to the side as they grasped my arm and flew me to the ground. I groaned in pain from my body hitting the ground.
I heard Reynolds yell and lunge forward. He collided with the Grounder, bringing him to the ground. Reynolds brought his fist up and continued to hit the Grounder. I jumped up from the ground and took the spear from beside me, throwing it to Reynolds. Another member of the enemy wrapped his arm around my neck as he tried to strangle me. I grabbed my dagger, stabbing the man in the chest. He let go of me which let me escape.
Reynolds stabbed the Grounder in the chest with the spear I tossed him, before he could stand up the stranger behind me shot him with an arrow. “Reynolds!” I yelled. I looked up at the man with my eyes filled with anger. I grabbed my gun, shooting the man that killed my friends. Someone from behind me, hit the back of my head with a club. I fell to the ground, my vision growing black.

Clarke, Finn, Miller, and Dylan walked through the entrance of the gated camp with their individual groups. Bellamy, Cassy and Octavia stood in the middle of camp, watching the hunting parties return. Two of the delinquents who stood on their posts began to close the gate. “Wait!” Cassy yelled, “Y/N and Reynolds aren’t back yet.” It was already close to dusk which made it more worrisome. Bellamy glanced at Cassy as her eyes began to water, Octavia noticed the little girls expression.
“Cassy, why don’t we bring you to your tent,” Octavia said, “I’m sure they’ll be here soon.” Octavia grabbed the girls hand, leading her to Mika and Luna’s tent. Bellamy watched his sister walk away with Y/N’s sister. “Clarke!” he yelled, Clarke and Finn rushed over to him. “Did you see Y/N at all?” Bellamy asked. The two of them shook her heads as a response. “We need to send a search team out,” Bellamy said. “It’s already dark out, its to dangerous,” Finn replied. “They’re probably already dead,” he added, earning a glare from Bellamy and Clarke.
“They’re not dead, she’s not dead,” Bellamy said, trying to keep himself from crying. “We’ll leave at sunlight,” Clarke suggested, “The Grounders won’t see us coming.” Bellamy continued to stare at the gate, Clarke set a hand on his shoulder. “Get some rest, Y/N can take care of herself,” he said.

(Y/N’s Point of View)
I woke up in the forest alone with only the sound of birds surrounding the air around me. The wind howled on either side of me, making it colder. I opened my eyes, but squinted them from the bright sun above me. I coughed, feeling as if there was blood in the back of my throat. I looked down and realized my poncho was torn off of me, leaving me in my tank top and leggings. I grunted as I got up from the ground, feeling as if someone was putting pressure on my body.
I glanced to my left and saw Reynolds laying there, but I noticed he was still breathing. I crawled over to my friend and knelt down beside him. “Reynolds?” I said, “Can you hear me?” He slowly nodded his head, closing his eyes. "Pay attention to me, okay?” I said, grabbing his hand. The arrow was still sticking out of his chest. His hands laid around the arrow, wanting to pull it out.
I looked around me and tried to find my gun. I finally found it near one of the trees. I quickly picked it up and slipped it into its holster. “Reynolds, we gotta get back to camp,” I said, “Come on.” I grabbed his arm and draped it around my shoulders. I winced in pain as we walked out of the area. I felt as if the blood had been drained out of my body, leaving me more fatigued. Reynolds dropped his head while we slowly walked. “Come on, Reynolds stay with me,” I said, practically dragging his body.
I looked up and noticed we were close to the camp. I sighed in relief at the sight of camp. I scanned the area in front of the gate to make sure we weren’t getting into any traps. “I hear someone!” Miller yelled, “It’s Y/N and Reynolds.”
“Hold your fire!” Bellamy yelled, looking back at the boys (GIF Above). The metal gate that surrounded camp slowly opened up, revealing a very nervous camp. Clarke grabbed Reynolds from me, Octavia caught me before I fell to the ground. I heard Bellamy gasp at the sight of me. His eyes widened in fear, something I never thought I would see. “Get them to the drop ship!” Bellamy ordered, “Close the gate!”
Octavia helped me walk up the ledge of the drop ship, Clarke set Reynolds on one of the makeshift beds. “Put her over there!” Clarke ordered. Octavia set me on the far bed, slowly. “Does anyone else feel the room spinning?” I slurred, vertigo starting. Octavia laughed slightly at my comment. I saw Cassy run into the drop ship with Monty, Bellamy and Jasper following after her. “Sorry,” Jasper said, “We tried to stop Cassy.” Raven walked in once Jasper and Monty came in.
“And I tried to stop them,” she said, standing next to the two of them. “Raven I need your help,” Clarke said, “I’m not sure if this arrow was poisoned.” Raven nodded and followed her order. “What about Y/N?” Bellamy asked, Clarke looked back at me and shrugged. “I haven’t gotten a chance to check her, can you and Octavia do that?” Clarke asked, “And can someone get Cassy out of here?” Jasper and Monty rushed over to my sister and pulled her away from me.
I felt Bellamy’s hand intertwine with mine, Octavia set a hand on his shoulder. I smiled through the pain. “You’re going to be alright,” Bellamy reassured, “We got this.” I slowly nodded as I tried not to close my eyes. Octavia lifted up my shirt, revealing a large bruise on the side of my hip.
There were a couple of scratches on my face, a long wound was on my shoulder. “How’s she looking?” Clarke asked from the other side. “Better then Reynolds,” Octavia replied. Reynolds yelled in pain as Raven and Clarke pulled the arrow out of his chest. I squeezed my eyes shut from the horrific sound of my friend.
Clarke grabbed an antidote for the wound just in case, she dropped some of the substance onto the wound. Clarke took out the needle and thread as she began stitching Reynolds injury.

I slowly opened my eyes, finding Bellamy sitting beside me still holding my hand. I glanced down at him and smiled. “Hey,” I said, softly. He whipped his head to me and sighed in relief. “Thank goodness you’re okay,” Bellamy said, resting his hands on either side of my face. With his help, I was able to sit up and lean against the wall. “I was really worried about you,” he said. I smiled sympathetically and sighed.
“I tried the best I could,” I said, “I tried to save all four of them.”
“I know you did,” Bellamy replied, running his thumb up and down at the side of my cheek. I leaned into his touch and smiled. “I love you,” he said out of the blue. My eyes widened in a surprised expression. There was a short pause between the two of us. “I-,” I gulped, “I love you too.” He let out a small laugh, wiping his tears away.
I put my hands on his shoulders and brought him in for a kiss, I felt his arms slowly snake around my waist. We broke apart and looked back at each other. We heard the red curtains at the front of the drop ship open. We looked back and saw my sister running in. She broke into smile at the sight of me.
“Y/N!” She yelled and ran to me with open arms again. Cassy hesitantly wrapped her arms around me, aware of my cuts and bruises. I kissed the top of her head and rested my chin on her head. Bellamy looked at me still grinning.
Summary: You and Bellamy broke up about a year ago. It tore both of you apart, but you knew it was for the best. You still hung out with Octavia while desperately trying to avoid Bellamy. Octavia had told you he had found someone new. It took everything in you to not seem jealous about his newfound love. By what Octavia had told you, Layla seemed different and sort of toxic. You had kept your feelings hidden about this person in Bellamy’s new life. Unfortunately, Octavia had forced you to attend a party that Layla and Bellamy were hosting. Let’s just say things were awkward.

I sat on the couch of my empty apartment while I watched some TV. The beep of the microwave interrupted my TV watching. I cheered to myself as I hopped up from the couch. I grabbed a paper plate, taking the hot pocket out from the microwave. “Hot, hot, hot, that’s hot,” I said, dropping the food onto the plate. I grabbed a glass and poured myself a some water. I rushed over to the couch, sitting down to watch The Bachelor. I went to take a bite of the hot pocket, but remembered how hot it was. Roscoe slept peacefully beside me, I smiled and pet the top of his head. Before I could take another bite of the hot pocket, a knock sounded from the front door.
I sighed in frustration and set the plate down on the counter. The knocking continued as I put my plate down. “Alright! Hold on!” I yelled. I rushed to the door and opened it. My best friend stood on the other side of the door. “Octavia....” I trailed, “Hey, what-what are you doing here?” She peered over my shoulder and raised her eyebrows. “The Bachelor?” she said, crossing her arms. “Hey, it’s good,” I claimed. Octavia sighed, pushing me aside. “That’s fine, walk in,” I mumbled and closed the door.
“Really? Hot pockets?” Octavia said, opening the trashcan. “They’re good!” I claimed, “Especially the pepperoni ones!” She sighed and rolled her eyes. Roscoe hopped off the couch and ran over to Octavia. She smiled, petting my dogs head.
I sighed and wiped down the counter with a damp paper towel, then threw it into the trash can. “You live in a literal pig sty,” she commented as she threw another frozen food box in the trash can. “Thank you,” I said, sarcastically. She scoffed and rolled her eyes again. I walked over to the living room, turning the TV off.
"I’m surprised that you haven’t asked how Bellamy and Layla are doing?” said Octavia, pouring a glass of whiskey. “Straight whiskey, really?” I said, raising my eyebrows. She laughed and sat down beside me. “How are you and Lincoln?” I questioned, taking the glass from her. “It’s going great,” she replied, smiling. I smiled to myself while nodding.
My thoughts immediately went to what Bellamy and I had before the break up. I remember going out on dates, having fun, and just enjoying each others company.
*Flashback*
(Third Person View)
The fire waved back and forth as Bellamy and Y/N sat in front of it, a blanket draped over their arms as the wind blew. They listened to the buzz of the fireflies in the distance. They were spending the weekend with Octavia and Lincoln at a cottage they rented every year during the holidays. Bellamy loved watching Y/N’s face light up as the first sheet of snow laid on the fields in front of the home hidden in the meadows.
He loved how she still acted like a child for the smallest things, how she would dance in the snow and begged him to join her. Bellamy adored the little things that Y/N thought were flaws about herself. He loved how she’d wave her arms around when she was passionate about something, or how she would treat Octavia like a sister, and how Y/N would dance with her dog when their favorite song came on.
Bellamy glanced at his love that sat beside him, holding a cup of hot chocolate in the other hand. Y/N continued to stare at the fire ahead of them. “What?” she inquired, not looking up. Bellamy grinned as she glanced away from the fire pit. “What?” she repeated, laughing. “I love you,” he said, smiling. Y/N smiled as well, shrugging her shoulders. She leaned forward and pecked his lips then turned her head back to the view in front of them. Bellamy kept his eyes on her, taking in every beautiful imperfection.

“Hey, you alright?” Octavia said, nudging my shoulder. I turned to her once I realized I blanked. “Oh, yeah,” I responded and cleared my throat. “You sure?” she inquired, setting a hand on my arm. “Yeah,” I claimed and nodded my head. “What are you doing Saturday night?” she questioned. “Same old, same old,” I replied, “Eat frozen dinners from Trader Joes, face timing my mom. Oh and maybe try out that new Chinese restaurant that opened up down the street. I might try and see how Janise is doing at the flower-”
“No, no stop,” Octavia interrupted, “You are not doing that.”
“What? Why?”
“Because its sad,” she stood up from the couch, “All you’ve been doing since the breakup is just sit around, eating hot jackets, and....and...”
“It’s hot pockets, not whatever you called them,” I interrupted. She scoffed and brought me up from the couch, holding my shoulders. “You need to get out there,” she continued, “You can’t just sit around and not do stuff.” I sighed and looked around. “I do stuff,” I claimed. “Going to work at the News station does not count,” she said. “I think it does,” I replied, putting up a finger. She sighed and let go of me. Octavia walked over and picked up her purse along with her jacket on the coat rack.
“I’ll pick you up at eight," she said, walking backwards.
“I never said yes!”
“You know I don’t take ‘no’ for an answer,” she said, shutting the door. “Dammit,” I mumbled and looked down. Roscoe sat in front of me and tilted his head. “I know, I know,” I sighed, “I’m losing my mind, aren’t I?” Roscoe barked and backed up. “I didn’t say you had to respond,” I said, plopping down on the couch.
_________
(Saturday night)
I looked in the mirror, trying to decide what to wear. I held up a pair of black leggings and a white t-shirt along with a black t-shirt dress. I sighed in frustration, throwing the clothes on the un-made bed. “Fuck it,” I muttered, grabbing the jeans and t-shirt. I slipped on the clothes and rushed to the kitchen. I grabbed a can of Pepsi, taking a sip of the soda. I looked at the time on the clock and saw that Octavia, Clarke and Raven should be here in about twenty minutes.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I furrowed my eyebrows and walked over to it. I opened the door, finding the girls standing there with a bag. “Your early,” I said, sighing. Raven gave me a pat on the shoulder while Clarke gave me a big hug. “Figured we should get here early,” Clarke said. I shut my door as the three of them walked in. “Because you are not wearing that,” Clarke said, pointing at my outfit.
“What’s wrong with this?” I said, annoyed.
“Jeans and a t-shirt?” Octavia raised an eyebrow, “My brother has a bitch of a girlfriend, you’re coming to impress not scare the boys away.” I raised my eyebrows at her statement. “Wait! What did you get me into?” I said, half yelling. “Layla and Bellamy are throwing a party for moving in together,” Raven said.
“They moved in together!” I yelled, voice cracking.
“Well it was more like Layla forced him to,” Clarke said, playing with the hem of her navy blue dress. “You said we were just going to your house,” I said, looking at Octavia. “She lied,” Raven joined in, pointing to O. Octavia glanced at Raven and glared. “Come on, let’s get dressed,” Octavia said as she pulled me to my room. She threw me a red floral dress, black leather jacket, and a red lace bralette along with a pair of black heels. I decided not to argue with her anymore than I already had. I lazily slipped on the clothes, put on some mascara, and a little bit of eyeliner. I put my hair into a pony tail, not really caring about my hair.
I walked out of my room to find my three best friends sitting in the living room. “Look at you!” Clarke whistled, hopping off of the couch. “I can’t wear this,” I said, tugging at the dress. “This is way to short,” I added and crossed my arms. The three of them scoffed and walked towards me.
“You look great,” Raven said, “If I wasn’t straight, I’d definitely date you.”
“Wow, thank you,” I said, “Wait, what about Roscoe? Someone has to stay with him.” The three girls rolled their eyes, laughing. “Which is why we took care of that,” Raven said and opened the door to reveal Clarke’s mom standing on the other side. “Hello,” she said, smiling. “Ms. Griffin, hey!” I said and waved. She stepped in, Roscoe ran over to her. “I’ll take good care of him,” Abby claimed, “Don’t worry girls! Go have fun!” Before I could respond, my three friends pushed me forward.
We arrived at a big house, a ton of cars were parked out front. Fairy lights aligned either side of the driveway. Animal shaped bushes were scattered across the yard. I furrowed my eyebrows at the sight of the lawn. “Yeah...” Raven trailed, “Layla picked that out.”
“I knew Layla was fancy, but is this really necessary?” I said as I glanced at my friends. They shrugged, Octavia put a hand on my shoulder and led me forward. We could hear the loud music from outside of the house, luckily there weren’t a ton of houses on the street. Clarke knocked on the door while her arm still linked with mine. Jasper opened the door with a wide smile. “Oh look! Its Y/N!” Jasper cheered. He held a full red solo cup in the other hand.
“Hey, Jasper,” I said, waving.
“Come on in,” Jasper said as he motioned us to step in. I saw some people I knew along with some people I didn’t. I felt butterflies begin to rise as we stood there, my hands started to become clammy with nerves. “It’ll be fine,” Clarke whispered to me, noticing my worry state. Raven broke from the group and found Murphy and Harper, starting a conversation with them. Clarke found Monty and Jasper and joined them where the music played. I glanced at Octavia and shook my head. “You better not leave me,” I said. She threw an arm around my shoulder, walking me forward.
“Don’t worry,” she sighed, “I wouldn’t leave my child.” I narrowed my eyes and gave her a sarcastic smile. “Let’s go get a drink in you,” Octavia said. I nodded and followed her to the kitchen. Some party members conversed in the kitchen while sipping some punch. Octavia grabbed a glass and poured some of the drink in. She handed it to me once she saw Lincoln walking towards us.
“Y/N, hey!” Lincoln greeted, throwing an arm around Octavia’s shoulder. “Hey,” he said to his girlfriend, he kissed her on the forehead. I glanced around the room and watched everyone dance carelessly. “You looking for the hosts?” Lincoln asked, hitting my shoulder. “What?” I said and turned to them, “Pft, no. I was-I was not looking for them.” The two of them laughed and took sips of their drinks.
“Wanna dance?” Lincoln asked O.
“I promised...”
“It’s okay,” I interjected, “I’ll be fine on my own.” She gave me a kind smile while walking with Lincoln. Her boyfriend patted me on the shoulder as they stepped away. I sighed and looked down at my drink, taking a sip. I recoiled from the awful taste of alcohol. “You never did like alcohol, did you?” a voice came from behind me. I turned around and saw Bellamy standing behind me. “Bell-” I stopped myself from the nickname, I cleared my throat. “H-Hey,” I continued, “How’s it going?” He shrugged and looked at the crowd.
“Alright,” he replied. “You?” he asked.
“Oh! Oh, it’s awesome,” I lied, “You know, partying every night, hanging out at the office, it’s-it’s amazing.” He let out a small laugh, taking a sip of his drink.
“So...” I trailed, “Where’s Layla?”
“Oh, she’s upstairs. You know, she’s always gotta make a big entrance.”
“Cause you know, everything is a pageant show,” I said, “I mean that in the nicest way possible.” He nodded his head and set his glass down. “You sure your okay?” Bellamy asked, “You have this look on your face, telling me you’re not.” I shrugged and set my glass down as well. “I’m fine, really,” I said. There was an awkward pause between us, we looked out at the crowd. I knew I had to break that silence at some point, I knew I had to tell him how I actually felt.
“You know...” I trailed and sighed, “I’m not that great.” I glanced at his expression and noticed his face soften for a split second, but stopped once Layla walked down the stairs. She wore a long gold dress that trailed behind her. I scoffed, rolling my eyes. Bellamy noticed my reaction, but decided to not respond to it. “Hello!” Layla called, “Thank you so much for coming.” She glanced at me and gave me a sarcastic smile. “Bellyboo!” she called, “where are you?”
“Duty calls,” Bellamy said, handing me his glass. I gave him an awkward smile and watched him walk away. I saw my friends look at me with sadness as I stared at someone that I loved, well still love. “Bellamy and I are so happy that you all came to celebrate the wonderful thing that happened,” Layla said, “It is amazing that we finally agreed moved in together, we’ve been waiting for so long.”
“More like forced,” I mumbled, only for me to hear. “Please,” Layla said, “Enjoy the party and the refreshments in the kitchen.” Layla saw me looking at Bellamy and her. She smiled in a evil tone, then caught Bellamy off guard by kissing him passionately in front of everyone. I felt my heart stop beating for split second, my cup fell in the sink in front of me. Luckily, the music covered the loud shatter the glass made. Layla stopped kissing Bellamy and smiled. She patted him on the cheek and walked away to talk with the guests. I tensed my jaw and grabbed my purse, preparing myself to call an Uber. “Where are you going?” Clarke asked, grabbing my hand.
“I can’t be here right now,” I said, “You saw that whole thing, right? I’m not blind.” Clarke sighed and nodded her head. “She did that on purpose, she knows I still have feelings for him,” I continued, “It’s hard enough that I have to watch her practically smother him while I stand there acting like a fool. I know it’s been two years, but it feels like just yesterday we broke up.” I never noticed that Bellamy had been standing behind me the whole time.
Clarke looked up at him and shook her head. “He’s behind me, isn’t he?” I said, sighing. She slowly nodded and uncrossed her arms. I turned around and gave him an awkward smile. “It was nice seeing you again, but I really should be going,” I walked towards the door before he could protest, but Layla caught me before I left.
“Oh, Love,” Layla called me, “Don’t you want more refreshments?” I tilted my head to the right at the remembrance of that nickname. I looked at her and saw she was holding a tray of drinks. “You know what? I think I do,” I said. Before I let her walk away, I grabbed two cups and spilled the beverage onto her.
She screamed as if I had hurt her, the girl waved her arms around. I heard some of the guests chuckle at the scene. She wiped her hands on her arms as if she could get the liquid off of her gold dress.
“This was $400 dollars!” Layla exclaimed. “Geez,” I commented, “That’s how much I pay in rent.” She grimaced at me, I swung open the door and stormed out of the house and felt the rain hit my skin. I ran my hands through my hair, groaning in frustration.
“Y/N!” Bellamy yelled, “Y/N! What the hell!”
He grabbed my wrist and turned me around, finding me starting to cry. “Do you regret it?” I said, “What we had?” He stared at me speechless. “I don’t need to explain, because I’m sure you’ve heard it all,” I said and turned back around. “I still love you!” Bellamy yelled. I stopped amid the driveway with my back still facing him.
“I still love you and it breaks me everyday I’m with that bitch,” he continued, “When we broke up, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I started coming home drunk every night, not listening to Octavia, ignoring my friends calls, forgetting about you.” I closed my eyes, wiping my tears away. “I never meant to hurt you, I don’t even know why I broke up with you,” Bellamy added. I turned around, not facing him.
“I still love you too,” I said and looked at the house, “Has Octavia told you what I’ve been doing?” He shook his head in response. “It’s-It’s really embarrassing,” I laughed, “All I’ve been eating are frozen meals from Trader Joes, going to the flower shop to see this lady named Janise. Who is very nice by the way. She made me these cookies that were shaped like dogs, they looked like Roscoe. And I...I uh face time my-”
My sentence was cut off by the feeling of Bellamy’s lips on mine, I felt his arms snake around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. I leaned back and rested my hands on either side of Bellamy’s face. “Why’d you do that?” I asked, looking into his eyes. “Because I missed you,” he answered, “I missed waking up to see your face everyday, I missed seeing that beautiful smile every time we hung out, I missed hearing your voice over the phone or just when we were talking. I missed the way you dance around like nobody’s watching.” I laughed as he explained himself. “I missed you too,” I said.
“More than hot pockets?”
“So, Octavia did tell you?”
“Maybe just a little bit.”
I laughed, bringing him in for another kiss as the rain poured on our clothed bodies.
