A late Christmas present for @ifyourequeerandyouknowit for the @LGBTPJOnet Secret Santa!
“Annie…” Piper called out, perhaps a little pitfully. But hey! She was sick, it was her right to be whiny and clingy especially when her girlfriend was out of cuddling distance. Piper had been sick for a week now. Nothing too bad, but the coughing hurt and the fever was annoying and Piper didn’t want to be stuck in bed any longer.
Annabeth, however, had other ideas.
“Rest,” she had told the daughter of Aphrodite rather sternly and then moved a bag of her stuff into Piper’s small, off campus apartment. “If I’m not here, you’re not going to rest, so guess you’re just going to have to put up with me then.”
Piper was used to being on the other end of these interactions. Of the two of them, Piper was arguably the more functional when it came to self-care. Annabeth had once drank two red bulls and designed an entire building at three a.m. But being sick was by no means pleasant, and Piper didn’t make an agreeable patient. The good news, though, was that now Annabeth was available for cuddles all the time.
Piper spent most of the week cuddled with her girlfriend on the couch, sleeping while Annie read a book or worked on some of her homework. Right now though, Annabeth was making them both tea while left Piper without her human pillow.
“I’m coming babe!” the blonde called out, pushing the kitchen door open with her hips, balancing two cups of tea and a plate of grilled cheese sandwiches in her hands. “Queue up the next episode of Amazing Race?”
“Reading my mind,” Piper replied, forcing herself into a sitting position with a blanket still wrapped around her shoulders. Annabeth pushed the ceramic mug into Piper’s hands. Piper smiled up at her, leaning into the touch. Once Annie sat down she leaned her entire body against her girlfriend. Piper might be sick and overheating, but even with her body overly warm the comfort of resting against the woman she loved was worth the slight discomfort.
Annabeth leaned over slightly to kiss Piper gently on the forehead before stroking her hair.
“They heading to Milan next?” she asked and Piper nodded, taking a bite of the grilled cheese sandwich. It wasn’t much later that Piper found herself slipping back into sleep. Next to Annabeth, she slept easily.
