"Give me cake or give me death!” Lian demanded, slamming her hands on the counter. It had started out as a simple hang out with a friend. The two didn’t really set any plans besides hanging out, going to a cafe and just catching up.
But as they wandered around, Lian began to crave baked goods. And not just any type of baked good, the fresh, made that morning, baked goods. There were a few bakeries in the area, even fewer that offered coffee with it and after what felt like an eternity, they found one that offered a deal on cakes.
As they entered the bakery however, they quickly learned that the bakery had run out of cakes and weren’t going to be making more, and the promotion would be ending that day.
“Can you believe this?” she said, turning to Karin. “What luck we have...I can’t believe we missed out on an amazing deal...”
