After decades of conservation work by WWF, local communities and the Wildlife Department in the area, the ibex population has significantly increased, an indicator of the health of the local ecosystem, which is now thriving.

WWFPAK Celebrate World Wildlife Day with this rare footage of a snow leopard hunting an ibex.

Captured by Muhammad Osama, Wildlife photographer and filmmaker, the video shows a snow leopard chasing and feasting on a Himalayan ibex- giving us a glimpse of the cycle of life.

This snow leopard footage comes after the WWF team saw a herd of about 50 Himalayan #ibex near Khyber village, Hunza Valley - a common prey to the snow leopard population living in the area.

To restore a natural balance, the predator and the prey both contribute towards a healthy ecosystem, on which people and livelihoods closely depend. Only when this cycle of life continues, we can ensure sustainability for forests, people and wildlife.
