Some more information about Aeron because of reason
Aeron wants to be a normal human being, more than anything else. Still, if he thinks it might be relevant, he tells of his transformative capabilities rather sooner than later, because it will come up any way, at the latest as soon as he is asleep. Since this kind of announcement makes people distrustful at the best, downright angry at the worst, it is not something he likes to do. Therefore, he has come to see his abilities more as a curse than a blessing.
Still, there is a small part of him that likes how he can do things nobody else can, some small part that thinks, or hopes, that his specialness might mean that he is destined to do great things. But the way the world works has made him jaded enough that most of the time, he ignores that small part of him.
In his time in the factory, when in his little spare time, he was jammed in a room with three other workers, who were not kindly disposed to his shape-changing while dreaming (because that can be noisy). After some time and some altercations, he decided to sneak out of the factory grounds after work and return early in the morning. Being able to become tiny is helpful for things like these.
Still, however, after some time, this was noticed, and the factory owner, though positively disposed towards Aeron and his problem-fixing skills, warned him that he might not do so any more; except during the preciously few holidays he granted them, he was not to leave the factory grounds.
This made him kind of depressed, until one day, he came upon a small, stray, extremely black cat, who decided to choose him as her companion. Of course, he didn't notice this at first, but after some times, he was visited by the cat almost every day, and he started to care for her dearly.
He still has no idea why. The cat might have an idea, sometimes she looks at him so strangely, but she's certainly not telling him.
He calls her Funnel, because she's as black as if she'd just emerged from one.
Aeron is pretty certain that if he received the proper training, he'd be able to do more than what he does now. He tries to train himself, but has preciously little success, especially as he doesn't know what exactly his abilities incorporate. Could he then just shrink even smaller and grow even larger, or could he change his shape entirely?
But he doesn't know who should train him. There are no wizards on his world, only stage magicians, and they have the reputation for being weird, smarmy folk who keep to themselves and whose main trick is to rob their audience. Anyway, they'd never be able to do what Aeron is able to do.
Still, sometimes, he dreams of running away and joining the circus or the carnies. He might earn more money, since he'd be one of the main attractions by nature, and he'd certainly be more free.
He wants to know if there are more people who emerged fully formed, at age five or six, from plants. But somehow, this is not a topic that comes up in polite conversation.
