Yes, irl
I'm not sure
The first image is of an adult, the second is of a larval stage wunderpus octopus.
No. 63 Wunderpus Wunderpus photogenicus
Found in shallow waters around the Malay Archipelago.
A smaller relative of the mimic octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus).
Similar to the mimic octopus, the wunderpus is also able to control both its shape and colour to mimic other sea animals.
Has been known to hunt much larger octopuses by wrapping around their siphons and effectively strangling them.

This is Dr. Ferdinand! (or Ferdie, as his unit calls him.)
He's actually that old combat medic I designed back in October, just with a fresh coat of paint and a significant redesign. Basically he’s just some grumpy old guy with far too much combat experience given his area of expertise, most of the scars on his body are from run-ins with Inkling soldiers.
Octo-ber #7: The Wunderpus is an important part of tourism in the Lembeh Strait thanks to its stunning appearance. Like the Mimic Octopus, it is able to mimic animals to deter predators.
