Soooooooo, Wubb had his 6 month appointment with Dr. Lindaman (#clubfoot specialist ). At His last appointment, 6 months ago lols, we got some good news that I was abit hesitant to share due to not wanting to jinx it. This time tho, I will share both pieces of great news!!!! 1 if things stay on course, Wubby will be out of all braces and such by 5 years old. 2 Today we were informed that Wubb no longer has to wear the #ponsettibrace or the AFO's (day braces)!!!!!!!!!! And his next appointment is a year from now :D We were oh so very relieved!!! ***it has been a nerve wracking & heartwrenching journey thus far. It is heartbreaking to hear Wubb cry his heart out almost every night when we put the braces on. Waiting & hopeing every 4-6 months that his feet will be progressing far enough for the next step. The ever-loomimg spectre of surgeries. Not to mention EVERY time we had to cast his feet, he would backslide on any progress he had made- speaking, colors, numbers, abcs, potty training, etc AND his behavior would deteriorate....and it just got worse as he got older and more mobile. And also the INTENSE meltdowns before, during and after the visits to Dr. Lindaman are not fun to put it mildly. He is normally mischeivious.....but he has always known (even as a baby) the week that he is going to his foot Dr. ,And that week sucks!!!! Todays meltdown was far more intense then I have ever seen(45 mins, which is UNHEARD OF for Wubb....a meltdown is 10 mins MAX. And then if I hold him it cuts the time in half....not today though) and he was borderline hysterical with fear in the x-ray room.*** Now on to : 1 Intensive potty training(it was really rough goin while he was in the braces)- we are almost there, 2 and getting him to quit being so resistent to REALLY talking(he understands most of what is said, and he talks- but his pronounciation is off..and he really prefers non verbal communication.
