Cyclonus was the one who named Extra Zelus.

Extra Zelus is aromantic and while they don't wanna insult anybody, they can and will be merciless when flirted with past a first warning

They have an extremely minor healing factor. It took a very long time to notice, it having to be pointed out to them.

Zelus was born in some offshoot room in Autobot City, so in IDW1 fashion, they are Extra Zelus of Autobot City. Magnus tells people they're from Iacon.

They have a normal chuckle, but a cruel laugh. Not evil, not maniacal. Cruel.

Zelus is perceptive but BLUNT. They put things together quickly and don't keep their observations to themselves. I'd call what they do blurting out if it wasn't 100% intentional. If someone is trying to lie, beat around the bush, talking grandly, or being passive-aggressive and implying things, Zel will cut through the bullshit and say what they believe to be the quiet part aloud, no matter who it is. They'll call their parents out, they'll call Rodimus and Galvatron out, they'll call Primus himself out, they dgaf. They are very often in the right ballpark but no one really likes this

Cobalt is their favorite metal (to snack on)

Zelus' missiles have the ability to completely disorient targets if aimed well. Everything will be spinning, and closing their eyes won't reduce the effect.

Their charge nullifier basically times out a target for a short length of time. While a null ray is like a paralyzer, the charge nullifer powered by Zel's very spark temporarily cancels out the efforts of the target's electrical system

Extra Zelus' parents are voiced by Roger C. Carmel and Robert Stack/Jack Angel. They're going to have a handsome voice.

They really want to have and shoot a bazooka. Magnus won't let them. Cyclonus doesn't have one to lend but tells them to ask another Decepticon

Ah yes, my crippling need to make characters I like into dragons strikes again.

SeaWing/NightWing hybrid

(Some quick basic worldbuilding: Animus dragons are a lot more widespread, but also a lot less powerful, instead most have a limited set of enchantments/abilities that they are capable of. Certain powerful animus dragons also have the ability to give others powers, who are known as Artificial Animus dragons)

-Animus dragon, became one after striking a deal with another, much more powerful Animus

-has slight prophetic powers that manifest as ‘good intuition’ and the occasional prophetic dream

-can breath underwater

-can understand aquatic but can’t speak it, due to not having all the needed glowscales. He can say some phrases with the ones he does have though

-a very talented cook, particularly with complicated seafood stews and soups

-comes from a small unknown swampy SeaWing village

-his family was quite poor, which caused him to grow up fixated on becoming rich and powerful by any means necessary

-in his youth he would steal gems and jewellery from more upper-class SeaWings, he was sometimes caught and punished, but this did little to deter him

-briefly worked as a cook in a seafood restaurant, but would steal from and con dragons on the side to satiate his growing ambitions

-attempted to steal from a mysterious NightWing who appeared in his village one night. The NightWing easily caught him, and revealed himself to be a powerful Animus. In order to save his scales, Gator quickly attempted to talk his way out of a nasty punishment.

-The NightWing, appreciating his guts and silver tongue, offered to make a deal with him: if Gator agreed to work for him in his group of swindlers, he could be given powers of his own. Gator agreed, and was introduced to the very powerful animus that gave the NightWing his own powers.

-after a few years of employment, Gator left the NightWing’s employment on less than favourable terms

-a notorious con artist, travels the land swindling and scamming any dragon foolish enough to trust him

-was the owner of a travelling carnival, had to give it up and now is the leader of his band of adventurers

-his abilities include:

being able to breath a ghostly purple fire (he could not breath any sort of fire before his deal)

Illusion casting

Temporary mind control

His ‘dread’ form

Can make soul-binding contracts that have physical consequences

Prestidigitation

-can enter a shadowy ‘dread’ form where his abilities become more powerful, and he can hide in shadows, becoming almost invisible in water

-SkyWing/MudWing Hybrid

-mostly SkyWing, but very strong and large with massive wings

-Firescales dragon

-tips of horns and edges of wings slightly glow with heat

-grew up in a quite mountain range with just his father

-never knew his mother, as she left before he hatched, and neither him nor his father knew where she was or even if she was still alive

-his father was a MudWing with flameproof scales

-his home was invaded by a group of violent RainWing revolutionaries

-they killed his father in front of him using venom, and forced Coal to set fire to his home to cover their tracks, then took Coal hostage as a prize

-was held captive for a decade and had his fire used for many different things against his will, such as fuel for machines, getting rid of the RainWing’s enemines, or simply just for entertainment

-was locked up using animus enchanted chains that allowed his captors to control how hot his fire was

-they would completely disable his fire as a punishment, leaving him feeling cold and powerless, which he hated

-eventually escaped imprisonment as the dragons who imprisoned him didn’t realise he was a MudWing hybrid, and he eventually grew strong enough to break his chains and flee

-Met Gator fairly early on after he initially escaped, and the two made a deal, that Coal would protect Gator from the dragons currently after him who he previously robbed from and work as his bodyguard, and Gator would likewise keep Coal out of the clutches of the RainWings who were still after him

-Gator was able to alter the manacles with his own Animus magic so that Coal could control his own fire, allowing him to keep it active without burning everything he touched, and increase the heat whenever he chooses

-it took a while for him to regain strength in his wings, as they had weakened from disuse during his imprisonment, still isn’t quite back to his full strength, makes up for it with his physical strength instead

-heavily distrusts RainWings, due to what he experienced

-used to not care at all about maintaining his appearance, as when he was captured he was near constantly covered with ash and blood, and wasn’t able to try to clean himself up. When he started working for Gator, the SeaWing encouraged him to take pride in his appearance, which Gator then very quickly grew to regret as he hadn’t realised that Coal was a very handsome dragon underneath the soot, and started attracting attention from a number of very interested female dragons

-when in combat often becomes engulfed in his flames, turning himself into a living inferno

-also tends to grapple with his tail to drag dragons into the fire to incinerate them
