Amazing work by https://www.deviantart.com/zakuman
Witches and pagans who missed Yule, you are valid. Witches and pagans who celebrate Yule instead of their religion's winter solstice, you are valid.
Witches and pagans who celebrate Christmas instead of their religion's winter solstice, you are valid.
Witches and pagans who celebrate Christmas instead because you're not out yet, you are valid.
Witches and pagans who celebrate Christmas instead because it's easier, you are valid.
Whatever you celebrate, have a happy one and a good New Year.
This is one of the best times of the year to grab books from Llewellyn. They have a 50% off sale going on until 1/1/24.

In addition to Mat Auryn and Jason Miller's books that are always quick to make the list, I wanted put some more book recommendations on your radar. In no particular order:
* Llewellyn's Complete Book of Ceremonial Magick - This is an amazing primer for anyone interested in ceremonial magick. It includes author contributions from David Shoemaker, Stephen Skinner, Chic & Sandra Cicero, John Michael Greer, Brandy Williams, and others. @dshoemaker93
* Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig - This is a classic for any magical practitioner's library.Â
* A Year of Pagan Prayer by Barbara Nolan - This is a fantastic resource for yearly practice and writing your own rituals and rites.
* The Magick of Food by Gwion Raven - A great read for any magician or practitioner who loves food and is looking to get the most out of their magical meals.
* Low Magick by Lon Milo DuQuette - I want everyone to read this. Lon is most known for his work in ceremonial "high" magick, but this is beautiful and accessible exploration of magical methods and tools for practical use.Â
* The Witch's Path by Thorn Mooney - This one is a great read for anyone who has struggled with magical burn out. Despite it being witch focused, I regularly recommend this to ceremonial magick people because the advice and tools are just as helpful for us too.
* Seal, Sigil, & Call by Jim Mascaro - This is its own thing and his own system of magick that he developed. If you would like to read something very fresh and approach your current work with new eyes, then this is for you.
Mabon
Mabon, also known as the autumn equinox (since day and night are the same length), is the time of year where we start getting ready for winter. It is the second harvest and it usually is between September 20 and 24. It's a great time to celebrate abundance, home and family. It's also a time for balance!
Great colors for Mabon are red, orange, yellow, brown and black. Wear them, paint your nails those colors, light candles with these colors, or use them any way you want!
Great foods to eat to be in the mood for Mabon are pumpkin, bread, soup, stew, but most importantly, APPLES! This is the time of year to cook apples, go crazy with it! You can make apple sauce, apple pie, or even those nice apple twist breads I've been making for three years. You can also just eat apples as a snack!
Crystals you should carry around/put on your altar for Mabon are bloodstone, tiger's eye, hematite, amber, citrine, smokey quartz and obsidian
You can also celebrate by going outside and admiring the change of seasons, or being thankful for what you have Practice gratitude! Meditate on it or make a list of things you're grateful for Spend time with the ones you love: have a dinner with them, watch a movie with them… anything!
Since it is a time of balance, meditating to try to balance your emotions is a great way to celebrate.
Getting in the fall mood by doing things that make you think of fall can also be a nice way to celebrate Mabon. Open the windows a bit to let in the fresh air, get cozy under a blanket… you can also watch movies or TV series that remind you of fall, listen to music with autumn vibes, or even go get a pumpkin spice latte, if that's your thing!
On that note, I wish everyone a blessed Mabon, and I hope you'll all enjoy this year's fall time!!

Tarot Time - Suits
There are four suits in the Minor Arcana:
Cups, Swords, Pentacles, and Wands. The names of these suits can vary by deck but these four are the most commonly used that I have seen.
