klee: in a library full of books, which five will you never get sick of rereading?

ahh, i love this question! i think one of my all time favourite childhood books is fish notes and star songs by diane hofmeyr, so that would definitely be on the list. i’d choose good omens by terry pratchett and neil gaiman and american gods (also by neil gaiman) to fulfill the supernatural quote (i love mythology placed in a modern day context, and these two books do it especially well in my opinion). i’d throw in the tent by margaret atwood as well, for when i need some prose that feels like a fresh breath of air (also, one can never go wrong with margaret atwood). the long, dark teatime of the soul by douglas adams would also get a shelf space, though i haven’t read it in several years. the price of salt by patricia highsmith would also get it’s very own space — i can’t really resist beautifully written lesbian stories.

bonus: midsummer night’s dream by william shakespeare, because i feel like i can’t really leave it off
