CONTRAST OF SHAPE WITHIN A SHOT. This shot contains both triangles and squares. These are different. Thus contrast.

The basic shape of any object can be revealed by reducing it to a silhouette. Any object, no matter how apparently unique, can be categorized into one of the three basic shapes.

LINE QUALITY refers to the straight or curvilinear aspect of the line. A line can be straight or curved to a lesser or greater degree.

LINE DIRECTION refers to the angle of lines CREATED BY lines or tracks of moving objects. These lines can be actual or virtual. 

LINE ORIENTATION: Diagonal. This shot also demonstrates affinity of line within a shot as all of the lines are diagonal.

LINE ORIENTATION: Vertical

LINE ORIENTATION is the angle of lines created by non-moving or stationary objects. The three angles of line orientation are horizontal, vertical, and diagonal.
