This phrase is something I have to constantly say to myself as I draft and then revise. It’s very easy as a writer to want to share everything with your reader, but often I find in my own writing (and in notes from my CPs) that I repeat facts or overexplain things. It’s easy to do because you want to make your plot points clear and your character motivations solid, but when you do this you don’t allow the reader to figure out the nuances of the story. It really is a part of the craft that takes time and patience to learn. I’ve been writing for many years and I still struggle with getting this aspect of storytelling right. #writetip #writetipWednesday #writingcraft #yawriter #yawritingcommunity #yawritinglife #writingabook #writinganovel #youngadultbooks #yafiction #kidlit #storyteller #yawritersofig #igauthor #igauthorlife https://www.instagram.com/p/CUapXVzP3JO/?utm_medium=tumblr
