Friendly Reminder
I just learned that the most popular book series in the world ā yes, Harry Potter, put your wands down ā has āandā, ātheā, and āsaidā in its top ten most used words.
Thatās right. Not āejaculatedā š Not āorbsā Not āDraco Malfoy with his sleek blond hair and his sparkly grey eyes" š Not āsmirked darklyā š
Just:
⨠the ⨠and ⨠said
So if youāre staring at your draft like āIāve used āsaidā three times in this paragraph, I'm a bad writer" ā congratulations. You are writing at a globally successful author level. ššš
(me reading this back like wow ok this post is about me)
Stop fighting the shitty English language. It will always win. Close that thesaurus tab. Go on. Iāll do it with you.
Let āsaidā live. Let it breathe. Let it do its boring little job. If weāre going down for using it three times in one paragraph, weāre going down together.
Anyway this has been your daily permission slip to stop torturing yourself over synonyms and go write the damn thing. Quickly! Before I open the thesaurus again by accident.
