Zoe owns and operates her own bakery in Sea Breeze Harbor, and loves trying out new recipes. One day, someone she’s never seen before comes into her bakery, and he is…well, hot. Zoe has never been married, and she’s starting to feel like she’s running out of time. 

Miles is under a lot of pressure to get his newest book rolling. He’s a bestselling author under the name Mason Cox, but after a bad situation that threatened his safety and the safety of his daughters, he doesn’t put his picture in any of his books. When he first comes to Zoe’s bakery, he’s immediately attracted, even though she’s just been through a mixer hiccup that covered her top half in flour.

It’s been years since his wife passed away, and he’s ready to find love again. Somehow, being at the bakery has invigorated him, and he’s writing thousands of words a day.

Naturally, since Miles is not advertising that he’s a well-known author, Zoe decides he’s just starting out. He doesn’t correct her on that, and that’s something that’s going to bite him in the patootie later. 

Miles and Zoe fall hard for each other, to the point where Miles is calling his daughters and telling them about Zoe. But there’s that ticking clock that’s counting down to Zoe finding out his secret.

I really enjoyed this book; it’s a fun and easy read, and Miles and Zoe are adorable together. What I didn’t expect was to see the name Brandi for the character of Zoe’s employee. My name is Brandi, spelled the same way, and I can’t tell you the last time I saw a Brandi of any spelling in a book. It’s just not a common name, and has been associated with some less that savory things, so I was absolutely delighted to see a Brandi in this book.
