I want to curl up with you in a blanket fort with a flashlight and a bag of M&Ms, and share all our secrets like we're teenagers again. I want to call you "my dearest friend" with an ironic tilt to my mouth and mean it sincerely. I want the casual physical affection that I somehow left behind along the way, like a shirt I had outgrown (I didn't outgrow it, I just didn't know how to wear it anymore). I want it back, I want it all back (we've never had this -- can we?)

as for inspiration, i think people have a lot more inspiration than they realize. it’s just about finding those moments or people that inspire you and capitalizing on it. no one is ever inspired staring down the barrel of a blank google doc. just gotta figure out where you have ideas and start writing them down

But then I hear his voice so quiet like the rustle of leaves in the wind, mocking me with its calm. “Shall I brew some tea for you too or are you taking your time down there? Mine’s getting cold.”

I know he isn’t kidding. I know there’s a teapot on the roof and mugs and spoons because I’ve seen him carry it earlier; I also know the punchlines of his jokes are always the fact they’re true. Though, this time, I don’t laugh. I can’t because if I did, I’d literally fall to my death. Instead I make a sound like a mixture of groaning and grunting, hauling myself up with shaky limbs and gritted teeth. After what feels like the longest two minutes of my life, I finally lift my leg over the edge and manage to climb on the roof without looking back just once.

Liev is sitting cross-legged next to a tiny coffee table I’m sure he’s built, slurping steaming tea out of a black Harry Potter mug. My mug. It’s one of the few things I brought here from home, and though he knows how much it means to me, he doesn’t bother to return my reproachful look. “Now, did you brew tea for me or what?” I ask.
