well, i donāt know about controversialĀ headcanons, but i do have headcanons that go against what is widely consideredĀ ācanonā these days in terms of what ff15 is anymore. namely, the content about ardyn and the supremely ācanonāĀ āfix-it ficā of the novel. ( why yes, i am opinionated. ) namely in that their existence means i name myself canon divergent these days because my portrayal of ardyn and my headcanons donāt go with the material that was released. but i very much incorporate it into his character.Ā
i suppose that iām controversial in that iām old and tired and goĀ āwhat we write is fictionā and leave it at that. if youāre not hurting anyone, then why not just write what feelsĀ ārightā for your own interpretation of a character? i know that thereās such a strong sway in fandom culture these days not to explore things that seemĀ ādarkā orĀ ābadā orĀ āmorally wrongā but honestly, those things should be explored. no one should censor themselves or what they want to write. so maybe iām less a controversial headcanon person ( unless you count the fact i hc that ardyn lost his virginity at a pretty young age because the few things i gleaned from his episode and dlc was that their culture at the time seemed very roman based ) and just outright controversial.
