Me: Alright, the Evil Warriors were hard but I did alright with their AU Designs... Who’s Next?

Me:.... Great.

Now this character was a toy concept wanted for years, and was released while She-Ra reboot was being made, so no chance being in.

And the whole Egyptian references probably can’t be as easily carried over as unlike Classic He-Man the SPOP

But there is a way the character could easily work.

What else do bandages tend to signify?

That’s right, Mad Science.

I have suspicions that the First Ones were working on ways to cheat death, since in the 80s show revealed them having ascended into energy beings and living in the core of the planet.

And She-Ra was in some story books a psychopomp for people who tried to use magic to never die...

Imagine the Best Friend Squad in an ancient First Ones lab, meeting a living corpse, still wrapped in medical gauze; mummified due to the lab being buried for centuries.

The same First One magitech implants that give him mobility despite his corpesy nature have adapted/damaged over time/modified by Shadow Weaver or Entrapta to allow him to enchant bandages to act as animate appendages of himself. Or he (or she or they, if doing a gender change since Light Hope used to present masculine in old show) was a magic user himself in life and has learned to animate bandages out of having nothing else to do.

I eagerly encourage anyone else to use this take as inspiration.

Wrap-Trap: The Magitech Mummy

“I remember when this desert was lush and green. When the woods were inviting and not overgrown. When there was...Harmony.

What have you done to this planet?”

Bow: You know I expected this to be grosser. But these bandages feel really comfortable and clean!

Wrap-Trap : *in a voice dry and raspy with the occasional hiss of radio static*  They are self cleaning

A First One researcher who was part of a political faction who was worried about the “human factor” of She-Ra. He was tasked into turning the kidnapped She-Ra of his time into an obedient, immortal, nigh-unkillable perfect warrior;

Sadly for him the allies of She-Ra tracked him down and his lack of conviction  made him hesitate and sloppy in dealing with the intruders.

He became a victim of his own researched procedures, either by accident in the lab led to the automated equipment in the ensuing battle, or intentionally by those wanting his blasphemy punished by a fate worse than death.

From what he believes found out about Mara, and seeing the state of Etheria, he is now convinced his cause was just, and with renewed vigor has set his sights on Adora.

But due to the war with the Horde this She-Ra is more closely watched than the last one he met.

And his use of First One’s tech could unknowingly attract the attention of Entrapta...

His methods to try and save his planet might end up leaving him in the service of those who care absolutely nothing for it.

Powers: Enchanted magitech bandages. Has the tools to manufacture and control more. 

Skills: Advanced medical and technological knowledge

Minions: 

Butterfly drones*

* Yeah I decide to throw in one pre-western Mexican influences in there due to the Aztec Mummy films. Not really cultural appropriation due to how ubiquitous the love of butterflies is across history in central america. Besides, scarabs’s traditional symbolism don’t honestly work as easily on a planet without a sun. Sure there’s some theme overlap with Flutterina, a character who will eventually come, but it could lead to a fun Clash of the Butterflies.

Mummy Preparation and Mad science both have surgical connotations and thought fun to combine with the Horde’s Horror Movie roots from back in the 80s.

Wrap-Trap the Horde Mummy is a cool  horror homage character I’d love to include in fanfic, but I don’t know how I’d fit him in a She-Ra au in a way that doesn’t come off as well...accidentally approaching how “nice guys” see themselves.

I mean, in actuality the issue is more classism and ableism (he had a limp when alive, its a cruel joke the mortician fixed that), but that whole accidentally kills the one he confessed to after she says she she will tell her father about his impudence... well maybe I’m just sick of men killing the women they love and it being tragic. It would take very good execution to pull off.

Also the whole “unable to attack She-Ra because she resembles the princess he confessed to” feels really weird with how gay the reboot is.

I would probably imagine a less stock-Egyptian redesign also... maybe cross it with a medical experiment vibe, and have his aesthetic weapons a coincidence he gets from his masters?
