other wheel of time show thoughts:
i just do not care about perrin :( his formative character moment at the beginning of the show (trying to avoid giving spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen it) is having to do too much heavy lifting in his character motivations and development. his grief and guilt would be more interesting if we saw them actually inform his actions
if being the dragon reborn didn’t suck i would want egwene to be the dragon lol i love her so much and madeleine madden is wonderful and her performance has really endeared me to the character. i think her calling towards leadership and conflicted feelings about what it would require from her to become a Wisdom or Aes Sedai and the development of her powers are really interesting and i want to see more of that. we love a woman having a narrative about leadership
is moiraine a lesbian in the books? if so, yay, if not, yay, that was a good change
most of my knowledge about the show comes from my mom who is on i think book five? and from a few articles about the show, so from what i know, i’m glad the show is moving away from the gender essentialism in the books
are we going to see more of logain? he was cool. don’t actually tell me lol
also i know the whistling guy is going to be important and even though we haven’t seen him like, at all, he freaks me the fuck out for some reason
i wonder how they’re going to reintroduce mat. i also think mat’s relationships with the rest of the emmonsfield five are so funny. he’s like your boyfriend’s problematic bestie from college who none of your friend group really likes, but you have to keep him around because your boyfriend’s really protective of him lol. i know that is not the vibe in the books but it is in the show IMO

the scene with rand’s mom was so good. rand has a lot to live up to
