When I was a kid, I found myself when I read the Lord of the Rings. I started down a long road of self discovery through fantasy. I met people who I count as family and my adult world formed in fantastic worlds and stories of heroism. About the same time, I wrote off ever seeing a face like mine in the media that I loved. I'm proudly mixed European/Japanese American. But things can change. I still love fantasy. I still search for myself in stories of magic and wonder. I'm still proud of my herritage. But I was wrong that I'd never see a face like mine in those stories. Thank you @thewheeloftime and @danielhenney for proving that things can change and icons like Lan can look like me. For 13 year old me. For current me.
