I was 12 when i started watching that show! 12!! And they had me by the fucking throat from like ages 13-18. Truly formative.
Dude my boyfriend has worked as a background actor. He’s been in multiple projects (coming out i think this and next year?) and he qualifies for SAG membership. He took a break and is currently working at a school instead because it is *already* incredibly difficult to survive just doing background and featured background stuff. We made plans that once there was some money saved, he would go back and join SAG.
The suggestion of only hiring background actors for one day and just scanning them in would have taken away at least 3/4 of the money he made from acting last year.
Idk im just thinking about how hard he worked to get there and his experience with the acting jobs he did, and how little the studios etc. really give a shit about him.
