After our conversation he was quite for a while as we drove home, but eventually broke the silence to say probably the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard from him: “That was a good thing you did... I’m proud of you.” That moment and conversation was worth every penny I spend on Chris’ dinner, thank God I didn’t pass up that opportunity to be kind. Kindness truly does matter. It matters to those who receive our kindness, AND it matters to those to witness our kindness. We expect kindness from others, but often find it hard to give. It’s not always easy, and none of us are perfect, but we don’t have to be perfect to be kind. Love y’all! ♥️

Sometimes it’s hard to be kind. Sometimes people don’t even know that they are being unkind. However, today is world kindness day, so maybe we should try to be kinder, to be better. Even if it is just a smile to a stranger or a compliment given. People are constantly going through battles that we will never know about, and a little bit of kindness can go a long way. But we must also remember to be kind to ourselves, if that means lying in bed for an extra ten minutes or going for a walk around the block to get some fresh air. We must all be kind, because that is what people remember. It is not the clothes we wear, or the money we flash.
