Declaration of working projects
Ok, taking inspiration from Katy L .Wood's post about their writing WIPs, I figured I'd do my own version for my artistic projects. I bounce between them a ton, but I usually have two or three 'main' ones at a time. The rest kind of percolate in the background. The background projects might get a ramble post now and again, but not their own tag yet. I'll also make specific links for the working projects on my blog so I myself can sort through them easier, and if you're interested in reading through the entirety of my process.
Alphabet Animals
Description: I'm drawing 5 animals for every letter of the English alphabet using this site as my main reference. I draw, just going by how cool it looks: a mammal, a reptile, a fish, an insect, and what I call my 'wild card' if something doesn't fall under those categories or if one doubles up and I think it deserves its own drawing.
Talking tag: #alphabet animals talk
Finished work tag: #alphabet animals
Medium: Ink dip pen and bristol paper
Size: More or less 4 x 6 inches
I'm currently on the letter F. I had the idea for this project forever ago, and am only now executing it. But I'm having a ton of fun and I'm happy with how they're turning out so far! I enjoy using my dip pen, and I'm so excited to have a project that I get to practice with it.
Ominous Motel Tarot Suit
Description: A tarot card suit of motels in the middle of nowhere with odd names and taglines.
Talking tag: #ominous motel talk
Finished work tag: #ominous motel
Medium: Digital. Originally pixel art through aseprite, but now via the app procreate
Size: 2.75 inches x 4.75 inches
I was inspired by this pixel artist, who does phenomenal work. Specifically I saw this artwork and thought of one of my own immediately. I drew that one that same night, then I somehow thought of twenty-nine more, plus taglines for nearly all of them. I also wrote a tarot-like fortune to go along with most of them. I'm thinking this will be the first suit of a three-suit deck, but I have no idea what the other suits will be. This suit first, then I can think of the other two. I've done two illustrations of the thirty-one, and I'm working on expanding on the shorter fortunes of the remaining cards. I only have two cards with absolutely no fortune, which is quite impressive if I do say so myself.
