Oil Change on a GA8. Ryan’s been doing some Advanced Airstrip Training with Rick (pictured), a pilot who was based in PNG for many years with his wife and kids, but who has now retired back to his home in New Zealand. As with many ex-MAF folks, retirement for Rick is pretty busy, this is his 2nd trip up to PNG this year to do training on the GA8 Airvan. Last week he was down in Rumginae training our fellow Alberta pilot, Tim. On Friday he heads home to NZ, but we hope to see him again later this year!

Spending time with friends and colleagues in Kawito! I've spent the last 3 days at our most remote base, Kawito in Western Province staying with my friends Luke & Catherine. I had to do Annual Reviews with my 2 base staff Olo & Amos, but it was also great to catch up with the other pilot family, Corné & Marieke. I also had time for some "girl talk" with my dear friend Catherine who is an amazing lady, coping with her 1st pregnancy in the swampy, mosquito-filled, heat of our most remote base. When I arrived in Kawito Amos's wife, Naomi, gave me the lovely garland I'm wearing in the picture. The little green tree frog was napping under the stairs when we were leaving, I scared him by accident but that enabled me to snap this little pic of him.
