The little shrimp tank I brought in to work. Just did their water change before I head home for the long weekend.
Added the other 4 nerites to the work tank and removed the ramshorns to come back home. They've been diligently working all week to eat up the wood slime. I'm A LITTLE disappointed that the horned nerites chosen are so lackluster in color, since the ones I've seen in the past have been brightly yellow and black striped, and these seem to be older ones, but it was grab bag so I can't really complain. The zebras look great though, as did the red racers I kept for the lowboy. I'm out of work for the next week and a half or so, so I left them with a note that they don't need to be fed and asked my team mates to turn the light on and off for the plants. Hopefully when I return the snails will have cared for the driftwood and it will be ready for the shrimp!
I got permission to start a little 5g tank at work, on the table where I normally sit for breaks, so I cleaned out one of the empty ones from my house last night and brought it in. I am going to probably stock it with extras from my tanks (like ramshorn snail or two and/or a trumpet snail) as well as things I can order online (the team voted that they want horned nerite snails so I may go with them instead, and I can order plants/shrimp online too). I’ve already ordered some supplies for it, BUT... I don’t have extra driftwood or stones and I hate letting someone else pick out the immutable aesthetic portion of the tank, so I’m going to stop by my favorite LFS for the first time since January and hand pick a few pieces to build the tank around.
Anemone. Presented without comment.

Guys I got a new job and I’ve been absolute shit at posting updates from it! I promise I will do better ❤️
I went on an adventure yesterday after work with one of the vet techs. He was given a nano tank that he brought into work. He brought some rock chunks, a couple of small snails, and bought some anubias. I took him out to get a pair of clown kilifish, a few dwarf shrimp, and some backdrop and foreground plants. I set up a duckweed trap at the surface because the shimps like to swim up to hang upside down on the roots. It will take a bit for the filter to clear up the water again after we stirred everything up planting plants, but it’s going to be a very cute little tank!
Dependable nerite wishes you all a calm and gentle Monday ♥🐌
