Realizing more and more that a lot of people did not grow up in households where "fend for yourself" dinner nights, "Figure it out" you have a brain and common sense you can problem solve this, "cant-find-it-itis" is not accepted here "Use you're eyes and look where I told you", "thats to expensive you have to work for it if you want it" (for the Airwalk converse I wanted vs the tennis shoes from the thrift store) were a regular occurrences that shaped them.
Both my parents worked hard to make ends meat so we went without a lot but I certainly think its given me some amazing life skills that I don't see in others around me and it is frustrating.
Maybe im just jaded and expect to much from people. But I tell you what those long days of splitting and stacking firewood so we were warm in the winter and hours on hours of house and lawn work for spending money taught me lessons I would need an entirely separate post for.
