Day 2480 - Today was my last avian disease prevention survey of my first season running the program. We had a successful season overall and capped it off by rescuing a scraggly looking gull and taking it to wildlife rehab.

Day 2177 - Helped run a volunteer training event for one of my favorite programs and was extra excited to unveil a new data entry tool that Fiancé built as a gift to the organization.

Day 1826 - Nothing I love more than seeing a bin of clean food scraps after only a few days of training students on our zero waste lunch program. They pick it up quick!

Day 1914 - I helped run an award ceremony and ice cream special for winners of our Earth Day poster and video contests. I have to admit, I was initially skeptical that it was worth the effort, but it genuinely meant a lot to the kids and parents and I’m glad I could be involved. (Plus it was a mostly zero waste event!)

Day 1915 - That’s a wrap. Three and a half weeks later we have finished data collection for our garbage+recycling study. Time for some sleep!

Day 3483 - Now that my field season has wound down, a lot of my time has shifted to cleaning and organizing all of our fencing materials so that they can be reused for next year. The unseen "glamor" of conserving endangered species.

Day 3371 - I’ve been struggling with some tricky parts of our work that weren’t well explained, so I volunteered myself to write the protocol documentation that I wish we had in order to benefit future teams.

Day 3334 - Started a new job today! I’ll be spending spring+summer doing monitoring of threatened species, mostly piping plovers and least terns.
