Names: “Mother of All” or “ The Goddess of Ten Thousand names”
Isis is the Egyptian Mother, Knowns as the Goddess of the Universe. She was worshipped and revered all over the ancient world.
Isis represents feminine power and act of creation. She was seen as Great Mother Goddess, she’s also seen as a mistress of magic, rebirth, healing, resurrection and childbirth.
She was adored by her people, she was also portrayed to be a very compassionate and nurturing goddess and whom was said to be one with her people.
Myth of Isis and Osiris, Her brother- husband.
In the myth of the two lovers their undying lovers shines through in a passionate loving story.
Osiris was killed by Set who was jealous of Osiris’ position of King.
It’s said that Set tricked Osiris into getting in a wooden sarcophagus build by Set himself. This wooden sarcophagus was built to fit Osiris’ measurements. Upon getting into the sarcophagus Osiris was then closed in and locked in shut. Set seal the sarcophagus shut with lead and then threw it into the Nile. When Isis heard her beloved osiris was gone she immediately set out to look for him in which she later found out that the coffin had floated down the Nile river. When she got a hold of the coffin again she hid it in the Marshland where it was found once again by Set. Set opened the coffin and dismembered Osiris into fourteen pieces and proceeded to scatter them across the land of Egypt. Isis then set out to look for the pieces of her beloved. She had managed to find all but one pieces of his body which was his p*nis. Isis decided to make a phallus out of gold and sang a song to Osiris until he was brought back to life. Once her beloved Osiris was resurrected he then could have a proper Egyptian ceremony and Burial. After Isis brought back osiris back to life she had made love to him with the golden phallus in which she became pregnant. She quickly fled the land to hide from her jealous brother Set and gave birth to her son, the Falcon headed God Horus.
Through the myth one can see how compassionate she is towards her family and how she will stop at nothing to protect her loved ones.
Isis the Great healer or the Great Physician
It’s well known that that many call upon Isis for her healing abilities.
There were temples built in order to worship and pray to Isis for her healing and great power.
One of the temple was The Temple of Isis Medica which was in Menouthis a sacred city in ancient Egypt, which is now underwater, devoted to the goddess Isis.
People would stay at the temple and follow a very rigorous daily regimen prescribed by the priest and then the person would in the temple hoping to receive guidance from Isis through their dreams.
The priest and priestesses of the temple of Isis were said to be physicians who were very skilled in healing arts and were very knowledge in human anatomy, producing medicine, knowledge of common and rare diseases and surgical techniques amongst many other things.
Her ability to heal the sick was well known throughout the ancient world.
Isis was also seen as a patroness of traveling by ship or travel in general.
The Nile was seen as life force in ancient Egypt their world depended on the life sustaining powers of the Nile.
Isis would be associated with this part of the Egyptian life and was called Isis Pelagia or Isis of the Sea since she was the Goddess who filled the Nile river with her Tears every year.
In the Alexandria Isis was honored at the shore.
She would bring good fortune for those who embarked on their new journey and to those coming back home.
Isis is honored every year in a celebration know at The Ploiaphaesia, or The Festival of Navigation.
During this festival people will sent out offering of incense, flowers, libations and small shrines in a ship known as “The ship’s of Isis”.
The ancient Egyptians were known for their festivals throughout the year and many were dedicated to the Goddess Isis.
She was honored every full moon known as the “Fifteenth Day Feast” Which fell on the 15th day of the ancient Egyptian Lunar calendar.
A feast was to be held in honor of Isi and Osiris in which the foods were white in color and were either round or crescent shaped.
The food was usually cakes, peeled potatoes, white rice, cheese and milk.
The Night of the Teardrop or Feast of the Waters of Nile.
A festival that honors Isis and her sorrows as she cries for Osiris and when her sorrowful tears flood the Nile. (Many of the egyptian festivals are not really known but this festival is thought to be held between June and July)
A six day festival celebration Isis’s search for Osiris.
On the last day of the festival her husbands rebirth is celebrated.
Isis is worshipped all through the ancient world.
She was associated with Egyptian Cat Goddess Bast, due to the fact that cats were sacred to Isis
Isis became associated with many of the Greek and Roman Goddesses and also had temples in these other lands
She is honored in Greece as a kind of tria Goddesses, Artemis, Isis and Hekate.
In Rome Isis is equated with the Goddess Diana.
It’s also said that the image of the Virgin Mary nursing Jesus was taken from the image of Isis nursing her son Horus.
Her worship was important, history says that it was hard for ancients to finally let go of their beloved Isis when Christianity came charging forward.
Trying to take Isis away from her deeply devoted followers was quite a battle.
It took a long time for her devoted to finally give her up after a long fight with Christianity.
Isis can be invoked for many different things since her powers stretch far and wide.
Isis teaches us to be loving and compassionate towards other.
We are shown to protect and nurture our family along with ourselves.
Isis shows us that the universal healing energy is, love.
She helps us heal from within and nurture our souls and also how to create our dreams and achieve our goals.
She also shows us that the love of mother can be strong and powerful.
Isis is a great Goddess for those women who are approaching motherhood.
Call on her to learn how to love yourself and others.

Hi Guys Cloud here this is my first post on tumblr that I wrote myself. It’s not good but I hope there are something you can learn from within this post about the Goddess Isis along with how she was worshipped. I’ll make a second post about how to invoke and call upon her through meditation, to create dreams with Isis, along with how to heal yourself spiritually, mentally and creating a bond with Isis.
