here's oscar saying he's binge watching prison break followed by lando saying prison break is his fav show ☺️

(i'm gonna assume you're asking about silverstone 2023 since i referred to it in my previous ask but pls correct me if i'm wrong!)

so basically, since 2023 was their first year as teammates, during the first half of it lando and oscar were still figuring each other out, i.e. a lot of their interactions were still a bit awkward, they were hesitant around each other, physical touch was pretty much non-existent... and then came silverstone!!

for me there are two highlights which are the long handshake and the fan stage side hug so i'll focus on those but on youtube there's a mclaren unboxed that shows a bit more behind the scenes stuff from that weekend if you wanna dig deeper!

the Handshake™. the context is that oscar approached lando in the media pen to congratulate him on his p2 & lando told oscar he was sorry that due to a safety car he couldn't be on the podium with him. here is the visual. to this day i still don't know why. or how. or why again. i just know it's mesmerizing. it just keeps going.

the fanstage side hug. after the race they were both pretty happy because it was the first time in a looooong time the car seemed actually competitive and they were all 😁😁😁 during the fanstage because of it. when they were asked to take a pic with the fans, oscar out of all people put his hand around lando. this surprised EVERYONE because, like i said before, they were still figuring each other out + oscar is just a very not touchy person in general. even lando was shook (see reference below).

so basically just a great weekend for them, the team, and the fans! good memories 🥰

my bet is it's been cut that way to make it seem more dramatic than it is and that he says some variation of "we don't hang out outside of work all the time but we get along well" right after, which is what both of them have been saying for years. they said it in interviews just last month, it wouldn't make sense to do a 180 out of nowhere.

the thumbnail for the teaser also says "i gave up", which makes it sound like he gave up on the title fight last year, but i'm pretty sure he's talking about something else (giving up spending time with his family so he could chase his dream is my bet for this one).
