I found this photo of a warrior woman and I gave her my weapon. I am her and she is me. I speak for my ancestors who have fought so hard for our freedom. I am the ancestor to our predecessors who will have overcome all unnecessary oppression. I am deeply saddened by the stories we’re hearing of our warrior brothers and sisters in Ukraine. 🇺🇦 Though I feel helpless on the other side of the world and so much is out of our hands, I believe we have our own duty and that is to do our part to empower ourselves here in our own community. Certainly, we must hold accountable those who have wronged— but over time, we only remain victims unless we stand up to those who hold power over us. This can be in so many different forms— activism, raising strong independent children, community service, owning a business, demanding our worth in the workplace… Can anyone else add to the list?
