Bristlecone Pines
I'm climbing up trees about to be chopped down; woodpecker steps into branches on the ground. I've seen leaves I've grown covering Virgin Mary become cases of poison ivy. I'm bored of harvesting my own sorrows; why can't we pick from fields already sown? I walked from spring to fall and I've already forgotten about my oath of how I'd tie my own vines at the start of each day (and yet, I reach for a hoodie each time I awake). I'm gonna see Brand New on Friday. It's insane to think about. I got into Brand New after I moved to Brazil and I've always accepted the fact that I'd never see them because bands that go to Brazil, if ever, only go to one city for one night. It's the equivalent of living in Florida and having the only concert of the east coast be in New York. At 16, that's unfeasible. Here I am, 3 years later, living in Massachusetts and still giddy that I secured a ticket months back. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a concert. I'm finally going to see my favorite band!
Brand New fans be complaining that Modest Mouse fans didn't like Brand New's set, yet they don't even stay to watch Modest Mouse's set (or do so absent mindedly) smh
