1. My eyes. I’m always complimented on my eyes and how bright and blue they are. My mom says that they’re her father’s eyes. He died before I was born but he was my mom’s best friend, and my mom is my best friend, so it always makes me feel warm and happy to hear that.
2. My curves. I am suuuper curvy. More pear shaped than an hourglass because my hips are huge af but I love them and they make me feel confident in myself.
3. My acting. It’s not often when I’m able to play a role that actually connects to me on an intimate emotional level but I have 3 parts in the play I’m in right now and it’s incredibly rewarding. My brother even commented on how he never got the chance to actually see my talent before this show because my roles have always been less in-depth.
4. My writing. Yes, I know I’m very insecure and needy when it comes to my writing and sharing it with people. (Lord knows I’m not gonna share it with people irl for a LONG time.) But! BUT. When I flow? When I write and end up with 15 pages of oh-my-goodness-this-made-me-feel-so-good? That’s when I love it. Because I love the feeling I get when I write (most of the time) and having the opportunity to share those feelings with people is so wonderful.
5. I’m genuine and caring. I’m guarded but I wear my heart on my sleeve and yeah that makes me so incredibly vulnerable but it’s the only way I know how to exist. I was asked by my director the other day what my process was, how was I able to get so fully into my characters’ minds? And I told her that I didn’t have a process. I just read a scene and if I connect with it, I connect with it. I’m in that scene and I am that character because everyone has felt those emotions. They’re just closer to the surface for me, so I can reach for them when I need to.
