Ritsu’s taken aback, visibly startled and with a slight frown that isn’t usually present on their features — before they realize this time, Beryl isn’t trying to do or say something completely abhorrent. In this exact moment. Their hopes for whatever his question is are truly not very high, but they wouldn’t be Ritsu if they didn’t at least give the guy kind of a chance.

Being a real vampire, not just a human with a costume Roman discovered quickly that he had interesting skill he didn’t have before. Like having a strong sense of smell. He could feel the werewolf’s smell on the hallway long before they’d actually met. In this way he could have just... easily turn around and avoid a new possible conflict, but...

Kadoc wasn’t initially expected to pay, instead he’d accidentally convinced Beryl that he should offer up something for those guitar lessons. Looking back, he should’ve kept his big, stupid mouth shut and accepted the gracious gift for what it was.

Now it was far too late to speak his way out of this. He should’ve used those words of his days ago to avoid the sordid fate of... wait for it... dress shopping with Beryl.

Kadoc was already hardly comfortable playing into Beryl’s make-believe marriage with Mash Kyrielight, a woman who seemed best left to her own devices. So when Beryl came into his filthy room uninvited and insisted that they had to do something “Mashu-related“ that already had Kadoc feeling less than stellar about how his day was going to go. After stepping out, Beryl had quickly measured him around the chest and waist like he was a hen bred for meat or something.

As it turned out, this wasn’t some elaborate cannibal ritual. Rather, Beryl, with his encyclopedic knowledge of Mash’s measurements, was making 100% sure that Kadoc would make... an adequate model.

Because Beryl wanted to get her a dress. And he wanted it to be a surprise. And if Kadoc could help, that would be real swell. (Spoken through his lupine teeth, obviously thinking about how his lady would be looking.) He’d just need to grab “a few things” and they’d be good to go.

Ah yes the sandbur.... Quite the troublesome lad wasn’t he? She so disliked it when others would seek out such dangerous and one sided love. Perhaps she should take care of him to save the poor little butterfly from any more terrible pricking.
