Wonderland by Pete Rowbottom, Wigan, UK Follow me on Instagram here With me thinking I'd lost a load of images off my hard drive (I hadn't) I started revisiting some older images and this was one that I'd never really done anything with, taken some 7 years ago, I had meant to post it here at the time but just never got around to it... it was actually part of an exhibition in Wigan in 2019 and I still have the huge 4 foot tall print of it here, although that's been sold and is going into an office in Edinburgh at some point. I'd been shooting at Rydal this morning as the fog was forecast to be decent, I got some good shots up there as well, afterwards I decided to head further into the Langdales to see what else I could pick up before it all burned away, as I was passing Elterwater this high level bit of woodland was looking really good as it was still holding a lot of fog so I decided to set in here and see what I could pick up... The mood in here was already really good but once the sun broke over the tops of the mountains and started filtering into the wood it just came alive, it lasted maybe for about 10 minutes or so I set about capturing the scene, for a single mornings work it certainly was extremely memorable! it's really not often you can get a scene like this totally unplanned and just adds to the sense of reward when you do, if I hadn't turned left off the main road for no particular reason I'd never have seen it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Website - Pete Rowbottom, 1-2-1 tailored tuition running now, message me for details ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://flic.kr/p/2nE3LyF
