Small World - Wonwoo (16)
You joined them at dinner again that night. The atmosphere was light, but you could tell Wonwoo was still holding on to his regrets.
You grabbed his hand under the table and settled both of them into your lap, squeezing his hand gently, letting him know it was okay.
“Your song is so good!” Seungkwan said.
“Thanks Seungkwan. I was really nervous, I almost forgot the words to the song.” you admitted.
“Hey dummy, you wrote it!” Ji said from the other side of the table.
“Ya know what, I’m about sick of your attitude today.” you said, glaring at him.
“Wow, that’s...actually kind of scary. Did you learn that from Wonwoo?” Joshua asked.
“Nope, she was born with it.” Ji answered for you.
“Lee Jihoon, I swear to God I’m going to start bringing pictures of us when we were kids and show them around to everyone if you don’t learn to shut the hell up.” you warned him.
“You wouldn’t because half of them that you’re in you look like shit.” Ji shot back.
“You underestimate me young one. I don’t give a shit what people think of me when I was younger, but I’d love for everyone to see that you’ve been an idiot from day one.”
“Jesus, is it always like this with you two?” Seungcheol asked.
“Yes” Everyone around the table laughed because not only did you and Ji answer, but so did Wonwoo and Hoshi.
“Anyways, back to your song. I didn’t know you could sing like that. Your last song was very mellow and almost quiet. This one was powerful and emotional. It was great.” Seungkwan complimented you.
“My girlfriend is pretty great huh?” Wonwoo said suddenly.
Everyone around the table, with the exception of Ji, had shocked looks on their faces.
“Really Wonwoo?! That’s how you’re going to tell them we’re dating?” you asked, punching him lightly on the arm with your free hand.
“Uh, hey Y/n...Remember what I said earlier in the dressing room?” Seokmin asked you.
“You mean after you listened to my performance and you told me you were going to punch whoever made me feel that way?” you asked, knowing Wonwoo was listening. You laughed as his head whipped around to stare at Seokmin.
“Yeah, that. If you sang it about Wonwoo, then I lied.” He said, causing everyone to laugh.
“Good to know you’re a liar.” you said to him.
“I’m not, but...I can’t punch Wonwoo. He hits back, and harder than me.” Seokmin defended.
“Well I guess it’s a good thing for you that you don’t have to protect my honor. It sounds like you’d fail miserably.”
“Hey! I’d at least try!” Seokmin defending.
“Actually, Sunshine, I believe you just said you wouldn’t. You’re a lying liar who lies.”
“Don’t you ever get sick of that?” Ji asked you.
“Running that mouth all the time?”
Wonwoo was walking you back to your apartment that was just a few blocks away from the restaurant you guys had eaten at when he brought up the dressing room incident.
“Why did you jump out of my lap so fast?” He asked you.
“I didn’t know who was at the door.” you responded.
“Honestly, I wasn’t sure aside from Ji if you’d tell the rest of the guys.” you finally admitted.
“I don’t know. I’m different than they probably thought someone you dated would be.”
“I’m just...different I guess. I’m not girly, I don’t care for make-up. I would rather rock some snapbacks and sweats than dresses and I’m kind of a bum when I’m not working. I’m not into the party scene and would rather just stay at home or hang out with you or Ji” you said.
“You basically just described me.”
“You like sweats more than dresses too?” you asked excitedly.
“Funny. But that’s not the point.”
“I know. I guess I just second guessed myself for a second.”
“Well, there’s no need to do that. I’ve already told you that I like your natural style more than the dressed up style you had during your performances. Plus I’m fairly certain I fell in love with you the first time I laid eyes on you and you were rocking a hoodie and dirty messy hair.”
“Don’t remind me. I almost left because of that!” you told him.
“What made you change your mind?”
You guys had just stopped in front of your building.
“The feeling of needing to see you and talk to you far outweighed the tiny regret in the back of my mind for my appearance. But it was because I realised that I already liked you then. If the first time we met I was dolled up, it would have been fake because I wouldn’t ever look like that normally.”
“I’m actually glad you weren’t dolled up. I had an image of my sarcastic accident prone girl in my head and while I could never imagine your face, the rest of you is how I imagined. Except I pictured you as a blond, not sure why.” he admitted.
“Funny, when we first started talking I did have blond hair, but dyed it more to my natural color about a week before we met.”
“Well then you’re exactly as I pictured you. That face though, I couldn’t have imagined that face.”
“Holy shit, and I’m the corny one!”
“What?! I’m flirting with you right now. You’re supposed to get all giddy and blush.” Wonoo said.
“Yeah, cause that’s the kind of person I am.” you laughed.
Wonwoo didn’t respond with words, and instead pushed you back slightly so you were flush against the wall or your apartment building and kissed you.
This kiss was much different from the one you guys shared yesterday. Yesterday was more timid, but also full of feelings.
Tonight, the feelings were still there, but it was more. It was more intense and much more intimate. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer to you. You felt one of his hands that was still resting on your hips snake around to the small of your back, pulling you away from the wall and closer to him.
Your lust filled public display of affection was cut off by the sound of Wonwoo’s phone ringing. He pulled his face away from yours, but rested his head on your neck.
“If that’s Jihoon, I’m going to kill him.” he said. He warm breath ghosted over your neck, sending a shiver through your entire body.
He brought the phone to his ear, but didn’t move his head from the spot against your neck. You felt like you were going to die from all of the sensations you were feeling right now. You hadn’t realized until that moment how sensitive your neck was. You could feel every little movement of his jaw when he spoke, his warm breath still washing over you. It was almost too much.
“Sorry.” he said, standing up straight and towering over you once again.
“Um, that’s alright. What’s up?” you asked.
“Seungcheol wants to have a meeting tonight to talk about our trip to Japan in a few days for MAMA. We’ll be practicing with every minute we have starting tomorrow morning so unless you come to me, I won’t see you until the awards show, assuming you’re going.”
“Yeah, I’m going. Gotta be there to watch my man get some awards.”
“There’s a lot of other great artists in our category, so I’m not sure that will happen.”
“It’s called optimism sweetie.” you said playfully.
“I gotta go right now though. Looks like I’ll have to do some more research on my new found discovery another time.”
“What newfound discover?” you asked.
He bent down and placed one soft kiss on your neck just below your right ear. You shifted your head a little, giving him better access to your neck. But he didn’t utilize it.
“I’ll text you later.” he said, starting to walk away.
“Wait! What newfound discovery?!” you asked him.
All he did was turn and give you a big smile.
Then it hit. He was talking about your sensitive neck.
“Oh you son of a bitch! I hate you!”
“I love you too!” he yelled, waving one arm in the air before he disappeared around the corner.
