I've been working on a map for my original story world and had no concept of the size of the map. Used the measuring tool and realized that my map's dimensions are absolutely ridiculous. Now I have to decide if I restart or just make it humongous lol
Recently made a map for my original daggerheart setting/campaign frame. I'm really happy how it turned out. I used wonderdraft for it.
Day 17: Mapmaking
Okay, back to actually trying to make maps. I wanna make a simple one for this new campaign and have been messing around in a couple different softwares to see what looks best. These are both "sample" maps, not final versions, so if they look incomplete... well, they are lmao
Map 1, made with Wonderdraft. I always have a hard time with Wonderdraft because of wanting to blend the different terrain colors but not knowing how, so it just ends up with these really hard, awkward lines between biomes. Big black line is the Gap, as mentioned in previous posts.
I also tried making one in worldographer... I put less effort into this one, imma be real lmao. I do love worldographer, don't get me wrong, I just wasn't vibing with it...
What I think I wanna try doing is the classic dice rolling method of terrain generation, then I can upload it to Wonderdraft or worldographer and use the image to trace. Hmmm...
Two versions of a map of a peninsula in a homebrew world I made a while ago for a DnD campaign that never really took place, but oh well it looks cool at least I can stare at it

The region of Surmise, off the Eternity Sea
Quick little banner map made in Wonderdraft!
terakk // world map
first things first, here's the world map of terakk! i had to add a few labels in and i'm tired to fiddle in wonderdraft for it so bear with it lol
i'm really excited for this world! i'm taking a lot of inspiration from anthropology class (my major eee), especially concepts and how distinct cultures can be from one another. if i can, i'll include real-world places and people i've been inspired by.
uh. there's not a lot going on with these posts yet but questions are welcome. there's french-sounding conquerors, nomadic foxes, merpeople that don't have a social concept of gender identity, magic developing as a technology with all the upheaval that comes with . . . take your pick for what you might enjoy!
