assorted wolvies from the latest wolverine series
Wolverine (2024)
He's the best there is at what he does... and what he does is run to the woods to think things over. Easier to be a wolf than a human right now, but things will conspire to draw him back in, as they always do.
One thing I really appreciated about this series: Logan is a more somber man than he is in other stories. He's just come off one of the more stressful periods of his life and he went nekkid into the woods to figure some things out. It's made him more introspective, thinking things through instead of just leaping into action. But he will still leap into action when necessary, it's just he's taking steps to avoid it.
One other thing I appreciated about this series: the art is great. Just detailed enough for characters to get really expressive, but when the action hits it really hits, you know? And most characters are distinct and memorable, even those who only say their own names.
It's also fun to watch Wolverine as a modern ronin, a free-roaming agent who stumbles across larger mysteries. Some of them are personal, some he just happens into, but all of them require a small angry Canadian man to intervene.
I don't know if there was a specific theme throughout each arc. Most of it seemed to be Logan connecting to his past, but that's a broad statement for anyone, let alone the Wolverine. They were fun to watch in the moment, but whether or not they formed a cohesive whole is beyond me. The story did manage to do something really interesting with Adamantium, which I won't spoil, but beyond that I don't know if this is one of the great Wolverine comics out there. Truth be told, I'm not certain if it's one of the goods, I just know I had fun.
rereading wolverine because i was behind by a few issues and forgot what was going on. always loving the kurt appearances here. i love his little sweater so much 😭🥺😭
tender… hold him so softly….. he’ll be okay……
and his little smirk in this last shot where hes like 😏 you love me so much youll let your enemies escape 😏😏😏
and he shows up again in #4 :3c househusbandified
logan apparently has a direct line to kurt (or at least the x men, and he ofc chooses kurt to contact) embedded in his suit. meanwhile kurt appears to be cooking and having himself some wine ^_^
