Any competent knight worth his salt knew that staying alive and beating every encounter with the enemy hardly ever went hand in hand.. sometimes, a retreat was necessary. That way, they could live to fight the next day, instead of falling because of pride.

I feel like I should tell you that technically they’re not all zelink oneshots; the series is sort of a way for me to explore what all the Links are up to after their adventures, and how they’re navigating relationships and their lives after everything they’ve been through.

Some are more fluffy (the skyward sword one) and some are more angsty (the link’s awakening one), but they vary a fair amount throughout. They generally lean a bit more angsty though because I’m just like that XD

I’ve already written several of them! Next up on my list is either breath of the wild or four swords, I’m not sure which one I’ll have done first. Here’s a bit from the 4s one though :)

“They all treat me like a thing Link, like just some prize to be won so they can flaunt their status,” she said, voice shaking. “Nobody thinks of me as a person, even Vaati only kidnapped me because he wanted a bride! He didn’t even care about me, he just saw my looks and that was it!”

She angrily pushed some hair out of her face.

Warriors is Hyrule's successor. 👀👀👀 YES PLEASE.

(Also I saw A Royal Castletown Wedding on there! Love that story! Dare I ask for a snippet of that as well? ... Yes, yes I do. 😉 But only if you don't mind, of course!)

Ah good choices all around! Two of my favorite ones that were on there actually, I’m especially excited about the Warriors and Hyrule one. I explained it a bit here, but I’ll give you a snippet of it too :D

“You... have magic?” Hyrule asked, eyes growing wide.

“Sort of. Not the time,” Warriors replied, raising the rod high. “Stay close.”

Channeling the sparks in his chest into the rod, he swung it down, twisting it around himself in a wide arc as he did so. Fire burst from the top, twisting out into an explosion of light, and Hyrule watched in amazement as the fire took the form of a blazing dragon.

It hovered majestically around them for mere seconds before bursting into action, taking out the enemies surrounding them with a fiery roar.

And a bit from Royal Castletown wedding, which I’m rather struggling with right now 😅

“We’re ready to start helping you prepare for the ceremony your highness,” the maid said, and Zelda waved her off.

“I’ll be along shortly.”

She left, and Zelda watched as the sun burst over the horizon, golden rays lighting up the rooftops.

A faint breeze blew her hair, and she smiled.

Fandom likes to paint him as the gentle comforting one (which don't get me wrong, I love!), but he's one of the most expressive and emotive Links based on his games. I'd love to see him rescuing a captured hero(maybe Legend?) and be absolutely at the end of his rope and worked into such a rage that's he's wiping the floor with the baddies and is at his friend's side before his anger is spent. Shouting, grabbing shoulders, and "what were you thinking?!"s. I thought it'd be fun with Legend since he would be very familiar with communicating "care through anger" and would get it immediately.

If it doesn't strike you, no worries! I'm looking forward to your wonderful writing either way. :)

Ooh you're so right tho! Sky getting pissed because he's worried is something I can do easily imagine. Sky's definitely a mellow Link, but letting him go ape-shit is so much fun and something he deserves to do XD

But spiders.😨

But how can I NOT pick Sky?!? I am hesitantly asking for this one. 😅

I haven’t worked on this fic in months, in fact— oooh I just checked the date it’s been almost a year 😅

Basically Sky and Hyrule get to discover the wonders of blackblooded Skulltulas and there’s some stuff with Hyrule getting too far ahead and Sky being too slow and questionable spider venom...

I think it started as practice with fight scenes actually, but it’s been long enough I actually don’t remember. I should probably just rewrite the whole thing since I never finished it and my writing style has changed quite a bit since I wrote it, but here’s a little bit of it that isn’t too dated I think.

Sky attempted to force his way forward and at least get a glimpse of the traveler, but the spiders were relentless in their attack and he had to keep all of his attention on keeping them at bay.

Which was difficult even with the Master Sword.

He tried several times to work his way towards the bright magical flashes from Hyrule’s sword, but every time he managed to fight a step forward, he had to dodge three steps back.

He found himself rapidly running out of breath as he kept having to dodge advances by the horrific arachnids, leaping from side to side as they chittered angrily and spat webs in every direction. He was starting to get an uneasy feeling that the two of them were being kept apart on purpose, herded away from each other so they couldn’t rely on one other.

The dancing scene in "Muffled Scream". So creepy and unsettling and it makes my heart hurt to think about it. I think it was one of the first few fics I read of yours? (I'm not 100% sure) But it's definitely one of the fics I read and fell in love with your writing. It's also one of the fics I recommend first when I send people your way. Bless you for writing follow-ups as well. You break my heart and then mend it. ❤️

ALSO, I'm going to cheat on this ask game and mention two scenes because I thought of them both and NO ONE CAN STOP ME. :D

Memorable Scene #2: "Steel and Silk pt.2" Zelda laying her hand in Link's hand while they lay in bed, and Link, realizing the display of trust she's showing him, just stares at the touch and doesn't even dare curl his fingers around hers. Be still my heart. ❤️😉
