Wolfslayer, Valyrian Sword of House Leygood. House Leygood was founded during the coming of Andals into Westeros. With the First men defeated in many regions, feuds between Andal and First Men were easily made. Horace LEygood traveled to the Stormlands to Partake in a tourney hosted by House Durrandon and met a man of House Stark who was too far off related to the current King of Winter. In the Melee, Horace took Wolfslayer in hand when the blade was still nameless. Valyrian Steel or not, Leygood fought and lost against the Stark time and time again. But the night after, Horace found his sister in her tent, red-eyed of tears and clothes ripped apart from the rape of this Stark. Without a second thought, Horace took his family’s blade and cut the head off this son of House Stark and in his wrath cut out every part he could. He sent every piece to Winterfell as a warning and a declaration of War to House Stark.
This is the last word I drew that’s design was based off the Mccloud sword from Highlander and is the one that closest resembles it. When it comes to patterns, the very elaborate ones are too difficult for me because of the perfect mirror symmetry needed so I usually stick with something simple. Simple engraving and inlays are enough to show that this sword is one of a family of the Reach which while considered the 2nd richest in Westeros is the one that is most relied on for their crops in the Winter. I did a layer pattern design on the whole blade because I felt that it was one of those swords that needed it more than just the fuller.
