I saw your tags on my The Last Wish post, I just wanna say it's a very good movie, it isn't too goofy, it's very good at balancing out the humor, the action, and the more emotionally intense moments. I highly recommend it. c:
im sorry, i forgot to answer this bc i saw "the last wish" and was like "when have i recently talking about the witcher recently..." fhjsddjs BUT i actually did go see it today, and it was really good, i liked it!
What I liked the most was all the character development concerning puss. His privilege of having multiple lives, giving him an inflated ego that's so big, it didn't allow room for anyone else. Softpaws' personal trust issues being reopened when puss finally has to face something so important (that he can't physically beat) that it gives him cold feet. Him then acting performatively bigger and better in response, boasting how great he is to strangers, until it happens to get him killed, and he's finally at another crossroads of having to face the threat of death for a final time. Him being constantly terrified and having to deal with it. I also enjoyed the bit w him reflecting on all his past selves too, one literally being drunk on his arrogance, and puss arguing w them bc he is different. i liked softpaws forgiving him too :) they totally could have drawn that out for drama's sake, and it shows she's not as hard as she tries to be
The humor was balanced out nicely, the animation was great, and the shrek references were put in there a good amount too, lol. i was kinda scared the dog was just gonna be a dumb kid's movie talking animal, but he was tolerable, lol. I didn't really like jack horner (john mulaney 🤮 and he just looked weird) and i didn't care as much for goldilock's subplot, but i didn't hate it or anything. Anyways, It was really nice, better than the first :) i'd definitely gif it whenever it comes out
